Should Mr Pink Jumper and his mate be ejected before they get in next time, We can tolerate idiots but not that type of idiot.

This subject needs to run - it is one thing to be all men together booing the ref when he is useless and the linesmen don't know what the offside rule is but abusing players for whatever reason is beyond the pale - this particular individual was underage & drunk and yet managed to gain admittance and misbehaved the whole game without being bothered by the stewards. It's how we deal with it that needs to be resolved - find a steward and ask them to react is the best way I guess but other than that it needs several of us to be together and tell him in no uncertain terms to stop or be ejected/banned. We shall see what happens when he appears next

We have also followed up on this issue on the official website:

Discrimination Policy - Racist Language

Margate Football Club has a policy on discrimination, including discrimination on racial grounds. Following a recent isolated alleged incident of racist language being used, supporters are encouraged to approach any steward at the time of the event to report it. Any perpetrators will be ejected from the stadium. Our policy on discrimination is included on the Matchday page of official club website under Ground Regulations. www.margate-fc.com.

The anti-discrimination policy has been in place for a long while. This particular incident was thankfully very isolated but the easiest way for the club to deal with any incident like this is for it to be reported to a steward at the time and not via the forum after the event.

Quite obviously, no one at the club wants any repeat, and while not complacent, we don't believe that this sort of thing is likely to be an issue on an ongoing basis, but is something we'll be monitoring.

This is clearly a sensitive issue, not least for the club's reputation, and we spent some time getting the statement right and co-ordinating that with beefing up the Staduim Regulations featured on the website to more explicitly make reference to the club's broader policy on discrimation.

I think we got the balance in timing and message about right, particularly in the context of all the other news coming out of the club over the past 10 - 14 days.

To be honest I am a little surprised and disappointed that it has taken almost two weeks for the club to issue a response to this very serious matter. Whether true or not, the club should have swiftly acted on this issuing a zero tolerance policy.

There was a response from the stewards after we were accussed of doing nothing. We follow the clubs policy and will not tolerate this kind of situation
