A poor game was won at the start of the second half as Flanagan poked home a long throw by Junior Luke. Two great saves in the first half by Ashley Jones kept us in the game. Tony Boot had one reasonable chance in the first half but I don't think their keeper had any saves to make.

Once again honours go to our defensive team and our superb goalkeeper. Even our goal came from Adam Flanagan who got into the right position to tap in.

 

After we scored just into the second half, it was mostly one way traffic but with our 11 men behind the ball, the opportunity to counter attack was limited.

 

Back into the playoff zone but unless our midfield/attack start performing it will only be temporary.

 

Surprisingly good crowd of over 400.

Probably a little fortunate to take three points but then we didn't deserve to lose down there imo.

 

Solid display defensively but we are lacking something in the final third of the pitch at the moment.

 

Still, its the points that count.

It doesn't matter how the three points come. Some we'll deserve and some we probably can count as being fortunate. I am sure the same applies to all teams. Teams that win promotion out right have the same....it's how you deal with situations during the 90 minutes and how you stick to the task in hand...effort, team work, etc. In those areas, we probably were the better team and therefore earned the three points.

A game where we needed to dig-in and not give anything away, great game from Ashlee Jones again. It's good to be back on winning form, after the blip at Hastings, a bounce back, now we've got over the curse of the Manager of the Month award, its onwards and upwards.

Got to hand it to 'em, they've dug in and won another tight game and that with both Oates and Cousins playing with knocks. That was our sixth successive home league win. Big game tomorrow and it would be nice to get a decent midweek attendance for a change, just to prove that this club still retains a decent hardcore support.
