Town v Needham Market

A fair result on the whole. Both sides had golden chances to score goals today. One notable difference was that Rob in our goal earned his clean sheet with key saves whereas we did not test the Needham keeper when in key positions.

Well done to the lads on a good point which keeps us in the hunt for a play off spot. Only Harlow made any ground today. Everyone else around us either drew or lost, although Grays are now creeping up with a good 4-0 home win. But I did'nt rate them last wednesday, all I know is that there's more to come from our boy's.

Great to see Whalid back he'll give us something different up front, i felt his return lifted the spirits in the squad somewhat.

A win on Tuesday will make it 2W 2D and one loss in 5, not a disatrous run against some of the more difficult opponent's in our league. So roll on Tuesday and bring on the Heybridge.

Only 66 paying fans at Maldon and Tiptree to see 4th play 5th. Clubs in the premier must surely hope that neither of these get promoted!

Agree with that Steph. We would fit well in the Premier division see attached. Lets hope yesterdays result pushes us on I still see Grays and Sudbury as our main challengers. Heybridge have a very difficult run in, Harlow and us probably on paper the easiest.

On paper a decent result yesterday against one of the seasons pace-setters, who we might meet and have to beat if we do manage to make the play-offs.

Don't know about anyone else, but what I do find it disturbing that our goals seem to have dried-up in the last couple of games, and to read that Rob Blackburne saved the day (and a precious point) yesterday with a number of key saves, whilst the Needham keeper was apparently under-worked throughout the match.

There are few easy games in this league, and with nine matches left to play it is going to be a very tight nail-biting finish to secure fifth place. Looking at our remaining fixtures, I believe we can realistically expect to achieve 5 wins and 4 draws, a maximum total of 19 points. Even this is not certain, but it would give us a final tally of 67 points.

Will this be good enough ?? Not sure. Football is a game of opinions and we all have our own views.

Keep believing !!
