Leatherhead

Recommended Posts

Anyone know why the Leatherhead manager resigned,Smudge you must know. Micky was a good manager and has done very well at Leatherhead.I suppose all the failed managers will apply for the position.

There was a problem at last saturdays game with godalming.

I wasn't there this is just info i received, godalming scored the killer goal (2-0) right on time and several players celebrated rather extravagantly in front of the leatherhead bench.

words were exchanged and a scuffle or two broke out where it is 'alleged' that sully struck a player. I don't know whether he did or didn't, but I'm led to believe that he was advised to give their cup semi final on tuesday a miss. The following morning his resignation was announced.

Whatever the truth in the rumour and I believe it fairly reliable he will be a big miss to Leatherhead and football in general.

A genuinely nice man and one of the most passionate members of the football family i have had the pleasure to meet.

I only hope that this hasn't sowered his love of the game and we see him back in charge somewhere next season.

I too heard this allegation the Mick punched one Godalming player but my very relialble contact has said, Mick did not punch him but pushed him away for his own safety, Godalming made a complaint and the Leatherhead committee did not give their full support to and Mick resigned.

Personally have a lot of time for Mick, one of the nicest guy's in football

Wish Mick all the best wherever he ends up,One of the Nicest Guys I have met in Non League Football, always had the time of day for a chat.Am amazed at the Lip site, who must be a very fickle bunch, very little support for him after he gave them, the best 2 years in their recent History. Not knowing what caused him to leave,I find it amazing that the Leatherhead Committee did not stand by their Man,and beg him to stay.If they did not back him to the hilt, over whatever happened,in the heat of the moment,I hope the Players do an exit left straight out the door, and do a Tammy Wynette.

On behalf of Dorking FC, can I also reiterate Teffers comments.

We were all surprised to read the back page of this weeks Dorking Advertiser.

Mick has been down to Meadowbank a couple of times of late, and I have always found him friendly - A perfect gentleman.

I'm sure we should put this one to bed for the time being as there is bound to be an FA investigation

A great example of chickens coming home to roost.a total wind up merchant who has been doing it for years but gets away with it cos hes a nice bloke in the bar. bit off too much for his own good to chew this time methinks.

hang on MG have you never wound someone up during a match, its part of football and it is done the world over, what is important is that he is a nice bloke in the bar afterwards, aren't we all? Shame to see Mick go but if your committee doesn't back you 100 per cent then there is no point in carrying on,good luck to Mick in his next job, Leatherheads loss in my opinion.

Having been to fewer than 30 CCL games (Excluding the AFC Wimbledon ones) I have been lucky enough to meet Mick at a game a couple of seasons ago when he was down with Coops at an RPV game. Chatted to him for 20 minutes or so and can reiterate what the majority say. Lovely guy and a loss to football - let's hope he gets back soon.

mate, you don't earn a reputation like Mick's by just being a nice bloke in the bar - which he is, of course. you earn it by being an excellent manager in the CCL, who goes on to do even better in the Ryman - all done due to a great work ethic and knowledge of football and players in all leagues be it higher or lower. Mick took up the offer of watching our game with Sandhurst last night, followed by a beer and a chat, which we managed to do well past midnight (although the game finished about 10.30 anyway). I can assure you that he is guilty of no wrong doing and that there will be egg on some faces when the truth comes out. decent bloke and good company who will bounce back somewhere for sure.

I'll back up Steves points. Clubs are far too quick to jump to conclusions and everyone involved should have their say before decisions are made. Mick will be in high demand for sure. Too many clubs dont realize what they' ve got until its gone...........

would be a great appointment for you CT

CHERTSEYTOWN, WHY DON'T YOU GET MICK TO JOIN CHERTSEY ? I'M SURE THAT YOUR BUDGET ISN'T FAR OFF LEATHERHEADS THEN YOU'LL DEFINATELY GO UP WITH HIS PLAYER CONNECTIONS........... WORTH CONSIDERING ??
