Fair account Tucks. Don't kno what it is at Frimley, we go 1 down or 2 down and everyones head drop, almost as if we accept we have lost. There's no fight or motivation to pull goals. Where does that come from, is that quality born in you, is it taught? It is simply at this stage in the season like people have said theres nothing to play for, so the loss is accepted ???

Don't agree... Pride, passion, the will to win....I think some of you on here talk a lot of rubbish. Everytime you pull on a shirt you have something to play for. The fans, the club, your team mates and your own pride. Now if any player or manager does not feel that what I have stated is true, go and buy some dominoes as football has no place for.

 

sorry weebs dont know where you play dominoes. but i have seen more passion,at my local british legion, than some of the games i have seen.coffee%20%282%29.gif

Down to the management team to sort it then..... Football must have changed as when I used to play I could not wait until the next game whatever league position and time of year.

 

WEEBS & GAFFS, AGREE WHEN I USED TO PLAY, FOOTBALL HAD A DIFFERENT MEANING THAN NOW. KIDS HAVE SO MANY OTHER OBSTACLES IN THEIR WAY WHICH THEY CAN CHOSE OTHER THAN US KICKING A BALL AGAINST THE WALL IN THE STREET..............THAT CAN'T BE DONE NOW, HOW SAD IS THAT !

 

COMPUTERS, MUCH MORE FOOTBALL ON TV, CLUBS (OPEN 'TIL 6) ! THERE WAS ALWAYS GIRLS & BOOZE BUT NOWADAYS LACK OF SLEEP AND EXCESSIVE BINGE DRINKING DOESN'T HELP ANY PERFORMANCE ON A SATURDAY AFTERNOON !

 

ALOT OF PLAYERS NOWADAYS CERTAINLY HAVE A DIFFERENT VIEW ON FOOTBALL AND DO NOT TAKE IT THAT SERIOUS, ITS A SHAME. SO NOW DO PEOPLE TRY TO UNDERSTAND WHERE I'M COMING FROM.

 

SO AGAIN I GO BACK TO HAVING ''SOMETHING TO PLAY FOR'' TO KEEP THESE PLAYERS INTEREST ALL THE WAY TILL THE END OF THE SEASON, OTHERWISE BELIEVE ME EXCUSES WILL BE MADE 'COS THEY'D RATHER GO OUT WITH THEIR MATES ON A SATURDAY AFTERNOON FOR A BEER AND LAUGH.

 

FEEL SORRY FOR THE MANAGEMENT TRYING TO MOTIVATE PLAYERS WHO ARE NOT INTERESTED AND WHY AREN'T THEY ? THESE PLAYERS CAN EVEN BE YOUR BEST PLAYERS.....DISREPECTFUL BUT HAPPENS !

Team has changed every week for about the past 4/5 weeks NG. Typical end of the season attitude. Unless your fighting for something, the last 2 months of the season are hard. Difficult to motivate players.

 

Isn't trying to qualify for entry into the worlds most prestigious football trophy - the FA Cup - good enough reason Tommo?

 

If it isn't, can't see any appeal in trying to qualify for NG's suggested "Best of the Also Rans" trophy coffee%20(2).gif

'Best of the also rans Trophy' maybe NICE GUY would like to sponsor this Competition,that should kill it dead in the water.As for being a Politician,suggest he joins the MONSTER RAVING LOONY PARTY.As for Respect does he ever show any himself,CAPS LOCK ALL THE TIME,dissing Players attitude,dissing Clubs,asks questions of Div 1 Players,that he has never watched,or ever intends to watch,on his own admission.To be a successful POLITICIAN you need to get out and meet people face to face,not hide behind a keyboard.

NICE GUY. . . I totally agree with you about the players lose interest towards end of season if there is nothing to play for. For me the winter weather and all the games called off was a nightmare this season and after we had only picked up 2 points in January did I have it out with players. We are on a decent run now knowing that the slim chance of promotion is still there. Over the seasons teams who have struggled in division 1 tend to struggle to get sides out towards end of season and that is fact! Players can only be bothered so much whether they are getting paid or not at the end of the day pure boredom sets in with getting beat every game or struggling to raise a side.

Animal but why have you lost interest. There must be reasons or is it the football metality of 'not going to win nothing so cant be bothered'. Players too quick to lose interest when its not going their way and to be fair its the same with managers. I really contemplated jacking in at end of january but remembered why i manage and why i love this game. Players and managers are too quick to give up or jump ship when the shi* hits the fan instead of trying to make it work and most of the time its the managers responsibility to put the club in order.

TUCKS HAS GOT THE ENVIABLE TASK TO MOTIVATE PLAYERS AND GIVE THEM BELIEF THAT THERE IS A SLIM CHANCE OF PROMOTION SPOT (IE) SOMETHING TO PLAY FOR. I AM SURE TUCKS WOULD AGREE THAT IF THERE WASN'T HE KNOWS WHAT THE LAST FEW MONTHS OF THE SEASON IS WORTH NOTHING !

 

NOW TUCKS, I ASK YOU, IF YOU CANNOT GET PROMOTED OR RELEGATED IN REALITY YOUR SEASONS ENDED, SO JUST GOING THRU' THE MOTIONS EVERY GAME COMES INTO EFFECT SO YOU'LL GET ANNOYED AND THAT ''WISH THE SEASON WOULD END'' ' THOUGHT ENTERS YOUR AND PLAYERS MINDS.

 

IF YOU KNEW AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SEASON THAT SHOULD YOU MAKE THE PLAY-OFF PLACE SAY 4.5.6.7 TH THERE IS A CHANCE TO WIN A CUP, DO YOU THINK THAT YOU COULD MOTIVATE YOUR PLAYERS THAT AS OPPOSED TO YOUR SEASON FINISHED, THERE COULD BE A CUP YOUR BOYS COULD PLAY FOR, THEN THEY WOULD LIKE OTHER TEAMS AROUND YOU BE MORE INTERESTED, THE LEAGUE AND GAMES WOULD BE MORE COMPETATIVE AS WOULD MANAGEMENT RIGHT UPTO THE END OF THE SEASON SIMPLY 'COS THEY HAVE SOMETHING TO PLAY FOR. COMPETATIVE GAMES BRING IN SUPPORT THUS REVENUE FOR THE CLUB.

 

FOR EXAMPLE, AND WITH RESPECT TO EPSOM & COVE, I WOULDN'T GO TO WATCH THAT GAME AS IT HAD NO MEANING AND TO A CERTAIN EXTENT THE MANSGEMENT & PLAYERS KNOW.

 

DID I READ ABOVE THAT SOME CLUBS STRUGGLE TO GET A TEAM OUT 'COS PLAYERS CAN'T BE BOTHERED TOWARDS THE END OF THE SEASON...... DID I NOT SAY THAT ON PREVIOUS POSTINGS ! .................... BUT THEN AGAIN I TALK CR*P !!!

I duno why tucks, I think we had such high expectations this season and for the last 4, 5 years we've been in the mixer at the end of season or have won it and now this year, from about Christmas time we were always chasing and 2011 has totally killed us. I think its boredom now , no cups to win, just wana see the season out and get ready for next season, and I think the whole club feels like that.

Ng certainly would not want another cup competition but play offs is a fantastic idea but one i feel would not happen due to the fa big wigs. Problem you have with play offs though is they could not happen if teams failing to meet ground criteria finished in the play off positions. By the way Nice guy i formally invite you to the warlingham v farleigh game next friday.

Ha ha i think we need alot of luck for runners up and third place will depend on others. January knocked the stuffing out of us but i cant fault my players efforts the last 5 games. Division one has been strong this season with the top ten more than capable of winning this division.

it happened to me last season, went to Coulsdon in February to try to keep them up, took some very experienced CCL players, but as soon as we went behind they struggled. It's a phsyce thing, but no idea how to beat it
