Warlingham 8-0 Frimley Green

Wars ran away with the most one sided second half I can recall.

First half was dire from both sides and little to report but for half chances to wars who started well but failed to convert. Half time 0-0 and Wars knew they had to up their game.

Wars came out second half and dominated from start to finish and played Frimley off the park Gledhill started scoring on 49 mins from 6 yards quickly followed by Jansen on 53 mins 2-0 and cruising. Brunty comes off bench on 60 mins and with his first touch volleys in from 25 yards on 61 mins to make it 3-0. Jansen makes it 4-0 on 70 with a sweet drive from inside box. Macdiarmid put wars 5-0 up on 79 followed by Ang on 83mins to put Wars 6 up. Right back baker unleashed from 30 yards to make it 7-0 and Macdairmid got his 2nd and Wars 8th on 89.

Frimley played well first half and I certainly didnt see that scoreline coming at half time but credit to Wars tonight who rolled their sleeves up took the half time bollocking and done what was needed. Another clean sheet and some very good individual performances from Wars. Players are getting their fitness and confidence back which is so important with the run in we have.

Thats twice we played Frimley inside of 3 weeks and they battle so hard and play well until they go a goal down and their heads then drop. They shouldnt really because they do at times create good chances. Confidence goes along way and I hope Frimley find it soon.

Bloody hell! 8 second half goals, that's a rare feat Mr Tucker! Well played, rumour has it that Brunty's volley was more of a scuffer, straight off the pad

Fair account Tucks. Don't kno what it is at Frimley, we go 1 down or 2 down and everyones head drop, almost as if we accept we have lost. There's no fight or motivation to pull goals. Where does that come from, is that quality born in you, is it taught? It is simply at this stage in the season like people have said theres nothing to play for, so the loss is accepted ???

Don't agree... Pride, passion, the will to win....I think some of you on here talk a lot of rubbish. Everytime you pull on a shirt you have something to play for. The fans, the club, your team mates and your own pride. Now if any player or manager does not feel that what I have stated is true, go and buy some dominoes as football has no place for.

Asked what NG??

Team has changed every week for about the past 4/5 weeks NG. Typical end of the season attitude. Unless your fighting for something, the last 2 months of the season are hard. Difficult to motivate players.

Isn't trying to qualify for entry into the worlds most prestigious football trophy - the FA Cup - good enough reason Tommo?

If it isn't, can't see any appeal in trying to qualify for NG's suggested "Best of the Also Rans" trophy coffee%20(2).gif

Yeah it is GF. Totally agree with you. The worrying thing at the moment is that I believe players are looking who they can play for next season rather than wanting to achieve with Frimley. It's hard to take how little commitment and dedication players have these days. Spose these are the difficulties you face when in the position we are.

What a night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

0-0 at half time and thought we gave as good as we got.

8-0 Full time and it was all the Refs fault. He could have sent off several of their players for excessive scoring and not letting our players have a turn with the match ball. Goal Keeper needs a chiropractor to assist with his back after having to keep getting the ball out of the back of the net.

You can coach individuals on how to become better players on the football pitch but you cant give them pride, committment, heart and passion.

Players have changed since I played. For 90 minutes you would step onto the pitch and anyone in the same team as you, you would die for. I played with people I did not like but for 90 minutes they were my family.

2 Excuses heard after the game:

  • I think you were to nice to us at half time and we thought we had already done enough.
  • We gave everything in the first 45 and had nothing left.

And to top it all off, the M25 was shut on the way home and on the diversion route a Lorry went into the sid of my car. Home at 02:00.

Agree with that mate and I have noticed that much more this season. Players' mentalities have changed so much over the years and there are too many excuses.

Hope you're ok after the accident aswell

i know this is an old point. but when you are paying a player, he has a differnt mind set, to one that is playing with his mates.

if he is on wages, he is there every week. your carrot weebs is cudos, with being at your 1st team, and all that goes with it.

i have read on other threads players dropping a couple of levels,to play with friends. now that would have been rare years ago.coffee%20%282%29.gif
