After defeats for Badshot Lea,Egham,Sandhurst, last night.Their dreams of winning the Title are over for another year. This leaves the Heavyweights of Camberley,Chertsey,Guildford, and Molesey to fight out the finish.Should be an exciting last 2 months for these Clubs, who will hold their nerve until the end.Must mention Hanwort Villa, who have gone unnoticed, with their steady climb up the table,5th place finish?.At the bottom Dorking have risen from the ashes, praise must go to Peter Buckland for some of his astute signings, relegaton NO longer a certainty, with the way he has them playing now.

I wouldn't bet against any of those Smudge although i do think the momentum at the moment is with... Chertsey, in form out of form they can kill you in an instant with the players they have , Molesey are dangerous and must be kicking themselves for dropping points at places they would have expected to get all 3 , Guildford seem to be able to grind out a result like last night it was not spectacular but pretty effective untill we went down to 10 men at which point they seemed to get a little edgy and with a little luck we might have snatched something from the game. Camberley i cant really comment on as i have not seen much of them lately but the run of form is perfect timing to put uneeded pressure on those above them they are probably the side with the least to lose which could count in there favour.

It is fantastic news for the CC to see things so tight at the top and they teams at the bottom are making it interesting too.

As for Hanworth Villa over the moon for them they have taken some big scalps this season and are nice people who really enjoy what they are doing at the club very down to earth and my kind of people it wont be long before they make a challenge for the league, they have come a long way in the last few years and i dont see that slowing down any time soon.

Worcester Park as they have the games in hand over BS atm....although BS have the points in the bag already, whereas WP and SP don't, so you never know what may happen (Farnham dropping 5 points in their last 2 games being a good example).

I believe the grounds have to meet the required standard by the 31st March 2011.

Do any of the following teams have outstanding improvements they have to make before this date:

Farnham Town - it was mentioned somewhere that additional seats were required?

Bedfont Sports - anything required?

South Park - from speaking to them last season, I believe a stand was all that was required?

I assume Warlingham, Hartley Wintney and Cobham are all ok for promotion, if they finish in the top 3.

do these grounds need to be completed by 31st march. or are there nods and winks.coffee%20%282%29.gif

Whitelaw states in the "Next Season" thread that Clubs seeking promotion from Div 1 this season need to have Grade G in place by 31st March this year (amongst other things that means at least 50 seater stand & covered accommodation for 100)

If promoted Clubs then get another 12 months to achieve Grade F (100 seater stand & covered accommodation for 200 etc)

what about being fenced in. looking at bedfont sports they have a bit of fence the dugout side. but this appears to be public footpath. as i saw people strolling into ground area from warm up area. during the game.coffee%20%282%29.gif

1.4 Boundary of Ground

The ground must be enclosed by a permanent boundary. As a general rule, the minimum height, when

measured from outside the ground, should be 1.83 metres. It should be noted that at higher grades (E

and above) the boundary fence should be of a construction to prevent viewing from outside the

ground.

Where any side of the ground is bounded by private land/property, the fixed boundary of that private

land / property may be acceptable as the boundary of the ground

With Football Crowds dying on there feet, these outdated ground rules need to be downgraded to sensible proportions.Crowds this week,in Ryman 1 South,Whyteleafe 52,Corinthian Casuals 72,Walton Casuals 88,last night a sparse crowd.Football at this level is going the way of the Pubs,Greyhound Tracks, closed or empty.Time for the powers to be to take these on board, you can now get wall to wall Football on T.V. except Fridays.maybe Friday/Sunday League fixtures are the way forward at this level.

The ground gradings have been watered down gradually over the years Smudge although to be honest they've not been changed much - just a few minor cosmetic changes.

The problem you're always going to have is that when you go from step 7 to step 6 ther are quite major and costly changes. Floodlights, stands etc. Once you've got the basics it's not too bad getting the next grading up. I agree a lot of it is unneccessary but the fact that about 95% of clubs in the country down to step 6 have done what's needed means the FA aren't suddely going to change anything major.

I'd also argue that crowds aren't dying on their feet. For some clubs they are, for some they're not. A lot of step 5 leagues are seeing some teams get 300+ every game although step 4 does seem to be struggling across the country for some reason. The Conference National is breaking records each year regarding crowds so it's not the cost that's putting people off. perhaps it's the constant whinging and moaning in our league that's putting punters off. Even I've wanted to leave grounds early this season cos I can't put up with it any more. When groundhoppers visit our teams from across the UK they often remark on this aspect of the game. I know we're not the only league where it happens but we're seen as one of the worst.

Bloody hell, I've run out of meal break now. Off my soap box.

I hate to agree VP but it has a major factor on crowds I feel. I flit between CCL and Ryman games and have to say that the whining, moaning and language heard in the CCL is terrible. Not only at officials but also team mates, oppo and even crowds. Unfortunately it goes for most teams and while not a factor in my choice of games I know of numerous groundhoppers who steer clear of 'the pub league' (their wording not mine) because of this factor. Although having watched Walton Casuals last week this may be worsening in the ryman league too.

Totally agree with SF & VP the swearing & whinging is getting really upsetting and nauseus it will not be long before referees will refuse to do CCL games and from my point of view I would not blame them. Apart from the fiasco of the penalty debacle on Tuesday at Krooner when both sides were totally out of order at some point, Camberley took the lead from an own goal, two of the Sandhurst defenders appealled for offside and then promptly berated the lino for not raising his flag, typical attitued witnessed from most teams including Camberley this season. Having watched both CCL & Suburban have to say the officials in the Suburban seem more in control than the CCL it may well be to do with the fact that most teams have lots of youngsters who have not got quite so cynical.

Went to see CB Hounslow v Knaphill last night.

Word of praise for the referee, sorry didn't get his name.

Refereed to allow the game to flow, got the main decisions right ( in my opinion obviously)

Those that the players dissagreed with he talked to them and explained and allowed the m to ask him why???.

Two incidents to illustrate what sorts the sheep from the goats!

In the second half. CB player could have made a block tackle but launched a 'Flamini' 2 footed one instead.

Straight red card, no brainer to most people there. CB management not happy some ongoing comments to the ref.

Referee stops the game calls the linesman over, the three of them walk 20 yards down the touchline have a free and frank exchange of views after which they decide the referee is right and we all move on.

Secondly a through ball to CB forward, Knaphill GK rushes out and collides with him outside the area.

The supporters call for a red card as he is the last man,but ref gives a yellow under the DOGSO principle.

Common sense and comunication made for a better game.

Abuse from the benches and spectators and players can be controlled if existing laws are applied in a way that seems fair to all. unfortunately!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
