good result for us this weekend 3 good points against a much improved basildon, i must say that it was the best i have seen there ground for a long time they obviously working hard behind the seens to make it look alot better, the crowd werent great as i would say12 of the crowd were r supporters but hopefully with the hard work they r doing there they will start to get some fans coming back.

good result for enfield a good win and a draw between stansted and bethnal green makes it a good day for them

The location probably doesn't help, but the fact that most people would go to Southend, West Ham, Arsenal, Spurs & Chelsea doesn't do them any favours either. Unless there was some major investment from somewhere, I can't see Basildon becoming a big player in no-league terms even though the potential is massive. You only have to look at Stevenage Boro to see what could be achieved as a New Town club.

went to watch Bgu vs Stansted saturday, no club house, no hot food, was shocking, but any way onto the game Bgu was the better team on the day but you can see why stansted are undefeated never stop going until the end very impressed with them, but there players and bench moan and swear all game was surprised to see des thomas on the bench, the ref was giving all the decisions stansted's way and the bgu bench to there credit did not complain until right @ the end when the ref gave a free kick for stansted to the shock of everyone even stansted, while the bgu players where protesting, stansted put the ball down a moving ball may i add took it and scored the ref was not even looking @ the play, then the final whistle went 5 stansted players and the bgu managent went straght to the ref, what for i dont no, but both teams could be in trouble, i think bgu find it hard coming from london and playing in a essex league cause the ref seemed to to favour stansted, in the end good game of football, wont be going back until there is a club house tho.

i cant foresee someone ploughing money into a club who cant be promoted or relegated, not much point spending money on a ground when the land is under a compulsory purchase order, could the club be run better?not for me to comment. location? its five minutes walk from whitmore way, within a two mile radius theres 8,000 houses,28,000 people, last year i posted 2,000 leaflets to houses around the ground them leaflets didnt last long theres no shortage of houses near the ground. the rugby club next door is very busy all weekend every weekend.

Did Stevenage Boro have council back up?

Not for me to comment how the club is run either as I simply don't know. What I do know is that a town the size of Basildon should in theory at least have a club of conference south status/ryman prem minimum.I would of thought that had the location been more central then someone may of picked up on this and although as the don has said there is house within a mile or so from the ground it's still too far away.Basildon need a football club that's central and the 100'000 or so people who live there can get to with ease

Amazing how you can get 2 different views on a game, I went over there and was not that impressed with either side.

BGU tried to kick Stansted off the park in the first half and both management teams had a lot to say to the officials, Stansted for not protecting their team and BGU for giving to many free kicks, 10 for BGU very lucky as he committed at least 5 fouls in the first half and then jumped into a tackle.

BGU took their goal really well with there one and only shot in the game, whilst Stansted took a quick free kick to equalise, they should have had a penalty in the last minute when there forward was brought down in the area but the referee bottled a decision and whistled for full time.

I waited around for a couple of minutes after and didnt see any problems with the ref as both management teams were talking to each other.

Personally think both teams cancelled each other out and a draw was a fair result.

There is another problem, fans like clubs to sound like football clubs

Bowers & pitsea fc doesn't have a ring to it like Basildon united or Billericay Town, personally I can't stand names with two separate towns in them

Until 2004/05 Season it was just Bowers United, they added the Pitsea to help identify where they are. How many people from outside of the area have heard of Bowers Gifford? Which is where they used to play before moving to Pitsea.

I know what you mean though, I think Concord Rangers have suffered in the same way, Not so much now perhaps.

When we played concord the other day, loads of my mates asked where concord were, they all thought they were near heathrow

Burnham Ramblers is another one,it sounds like a basketball club, sometimes clubs need to help themselves more with simple things like naming, after all they are brand products at the end of the day

How about Port Vale, there's no such place, they're in Burslem, Stoke on Trent.

I think we may have started something here!.
