Heybridge v ETFC

Phew ! That sounds like a hard-earned point in a closely contested match.

Well done guys in holding on for a share of the points. This is always a difficult place to go, and it is very encouraging that we are continuing to maintain our impressive away form.

Thanks Steve and the players, and very best of luck in our next away fixture.

A point that I personally would have settled for before the game, but a shame we could not see out the first half and come in 2 up. A decent point against one of our rivals. I set a target of 3 wins a draw and a loss in 5 games. So far we have 1 win 1 draw. Next up is Gray's away and a win must be the target. We also know from their visit to us, they will be a physical team and indeed a team which crossed the line of acceptable behaviour last time round, a stronger ref would have had them down to 8 men if he were strong enough.

Roll on wednesday, Come On the Town.

Hope you are right with your prediction EU.

I reckon 70 points are needed for a play-off place and every game now is important. I base this on the last four seasons. In 07 Sudbury finished 5th with 70 points, a year later Canvey with 79, Concord got 79 in 09, and last season ETU 77 points. Okay two games less this year but I am starting to think its going to be a tall order for us.

A hard challenge is ahead of us but not a tall order. You will soon see 2-3 new additions to the team/squad that will add quality for the push, as the only reason we are a couple of points short is due to injuries. All the teams around us are also dropping loads of points, even yesterday, only Sudbury made ground. Roll on Gray's and believe,

Steph, looking at the present league standings, I am not quite as optimistic as you that we will make the play-offs this season. Anything is possible, but it is going to be very demanding and, as you rightly point out, much will depend on our home form at Brimsdown and how many points we can accumalate from those remaining six matches.

We have recently made 2-3 additions to the first team squad so, hopefully, given the opportunity they will add something extra to the team and freshen things up. If we can get our injuries sorted, and those quality players available for selection, we will have not only a very good chance of making the play-offs, but also a great opportunity to make the final and win it.

First things first. Let's maintain our outstanding away form and replicate it at Brimsdown.

Good luck everyone at Grays on Wednesday evening and for the rest of this season.

our last 7 games are against sides who are currently sitting in the bottom 8 places of the league table. I would expect us to be able to beat all these sides and get maximum points from them even with our rather erratic home form.

That said our next 4 games are against teams in and around us and will provide much tougher opponents. If we can get through these 4 games with at least 2 wins and a draw that should hopefully stand us in good stead to face the so called weaker teams of the league.

So with 11 games to go 7/8 wins and 2 draws should see us secure a playoff spot. All the fans are behind you lads lets finish the season with a nice run and an in form town getting into the playoffs full of confidence and there'll be no stopping us.

7/8 wins alone should secure a play off spot. But we are missing key player's, we'll see the strength of the squad and what they can do. Anyway one game at a time as they say, let's not come away from Gray's with zilch, 3pts would be fantastic,
