Tooting went 442 just before their first goal, I thought, and that's why we made the change.

scary thing is our 16 pt gap is now only 10 pts from relegation , the lads need to take a reality check i think . They can all play football , they all have good names around the non league circuit but why is it not working for us .

Well the squad turned up today - strolled around the pitch as though it was a pre season friendly.

Desire to win - no.

There to collect their wages - yes.

Strikers up for it - no.

Looked like scoring ,with all their chances - no.

Welford - Is he interested in scoring anymore ? - No.

Squad going through the motions - yes.

Repeat - DESIRE TO SCORE AND WIN ? NO - NOT ON THIS DISPLAY BUT HEY,F.. K THAT ,WHERE IS MY PAY - I'M ONLY HERE FOR THAT.

Sorry, totally disagree with that. There was plenty of commitment and hard work, at least for the first hour. We were all over them, just couldn't find the net.

..........DESIRE TO SCORE AND WIN....... or are they just going through the motions of playing 90 minutes.

Maybe with all the chances we are NOT putting away & bearing in mind in training the players were asked to do shooting practice MAYBE instead, they should be given MISSING practice.

By that I mean for them to shoot at goal in training but try to AVOID getting the ball into the net. Then on match day they might be spot on!

Just a thought I.O. ;)

Does the recent poor run have its roots in the fact that we have minimal strength /quality in midfield-and IOC did not replaced Saunders and more importantly Marsden ?

I musr admit that i fear for the carlshalton game-as whatever one feels about the circumstances of his leaving-Butler is a good manager-and this is probabably the seasons most important game for him-he will not allow for carlshalton to lose twice to Margate-and will be so determined for his team to win next weekend.

Unlike blueballs-i do not think 'form' comes into next weeekd game,albeit-Margates form is no better than carlshaltons anyway ?

(bring back more white into next seasons kit )

Yes they did but is everyone else wearing blinkers and missing the point here that IOC failed in his tactical duty yet again! WE DIDN'T MAKE THE CHANGE - until they scored!!!!!!!

They were like for like and admittedly should have been losing by about 3. Once again Margate were seemingly content with the way it was going. BeforeT&M made the change Welford should have been off, Pinnock moved up top and Wilson into the middle.

They then made a positive change and it was apparent immediately that'd they had gone to 4-4-2. Ok, no dramas, let's have a look for five minutes. The problem was in those five minutes T&M started to have more of the play, the lad that came on was running at players, commiting Osborne and drawing others in (Lacey even deemed to make a crazy recovery run almost to the left back slot leaving his flank with two M&T players screaming for the ball like mad banshees as they had the freedom of the park, luckily they weren't found). So we've established T&M had got a grip of the game, what happened from the Margate Bench?

That's right, nothing. Then came the goal - Can't fault Turner for that, great strike to be fair, it was past him before he blinked - was the lad closed down quickly enough - you decide. But then again two of our players went for the same ball and dumped eah other on the floor - what, communication I hear you say!

Then the changes came and I'm not sure the players knew what was going on as they seemed to be confused as the rest of us to what was supposed to be happening. It looked like they'd gone to a 4-3-3 but that was anyones guess - Even IOCs guessas well it would seem, because he was still trying to get instructions over as T&M had bagged their second. Poor marking combined with a good run by the lad who scored.

We were totally disjointed after that, Welford decided to return to Sunday parks football by wondering anywhere he pleased.

If he is indeed getting advice from Winch the laundry man (knowledgable according to IOC) - why wasn't Winch imparting that 'knowledge' and advising the tactical inept IOC what the other team had done - or is it the blind leading the blind? There's never anything pro-active coming from the sideline, nothing at all. IOC has no ability to read a game as it's either developing or developed. It's all delayed reaction, and often after the horse has bolted.

A previous post implied the players let themselves and the management down. That's certainly not the case with the game I saw, Ok the heads went down at 2-0. Up until the first T&M substitution they were playing OK, were certainly in the game and really should have been in the lead. We should have made a positive change a lot earlier on to try and force the game as it was there for the taking, but once again tactical ineptitude (poor finishing & the crossbar & a bad refereeing decision) ruled the day.

Never mind, Monday morning tomorrow cheesy%20%282%29.gif

Strong suff but sadly admit i agree.

Certainly after their change the game changed quickly and we should have done so as well. When the changes were made there was certainly confusion amongst the players as much as us! Not good to see.

However, after all that the game should have been buried by half time and the committment was there so IOC can it seems get them going , he just cant keep them there.i predict more of the same particularly second half on saturday
