There are talks of an ESL reserves side being re-activated and I was thinking why not an ESL Youth League I mean an U'18s division?I remember the Isthmian League having one.What are your thoughts about it?

To be honest Coach would be a good idea in theory but teams already struggle getting first team games on due to poor pitch conditions let alone Youth or resereve fixtures.

 

Unless you could play the games on an outside pitch

Our ressies are in the capital league and its woeful . Tonight will be their first game in about 3 months!

If a youth league is something that the Clubs want, the League will look at it.

They can play on Sundays as they do now and don't need to be the main pitch every time Or even mid-week when weather is fine..

Rather than have an u-18's league, it might be better to have an u-21's division so you can use the older fringe players In your squad aswell. Another important factor in this would be because of the the amount of younger players who have to work while they are at College or Uni, so it could be a struggle for a few clubs to get a 14 man squad out reguarly.

That's a great idea.I would make 3 over 21s though.

So would the ESL lose all its young talent to this new league? Would it be a more attractive proposition for them to play in this league over the ESL? Would they wish to play in both?

ESL is an inexhaustible tank of talented young players.A bit like the Brasilian or French League. One goes and another one is pushed through to replace the departing one.Awesome!!
