ft farnham 0 sandhurst 1

90th min winner

It was difficult to try and play football on a sticky pitch and the team against the wind was the better side, Sandhurst in the first and Farnham in the second.

Farnham had the first chance to open the scoring following the Sandhurst defence standing a watching but this caught the attacker by suprise and there was not enough power in the shot and enough time for our goalie to recover.

We then hit the post but there were very few occasions when either goalkeeper had to work.

Farnham were the better side in the second half and forced a good save from our goalie. They also had two strong penalty appeals turned down when on another day at least one of them may have been given.

With everyone expecting extra time, out sub midfielder picked the ball up from about 25 yards and sent a shot towards goal which dropped over the keepers head and in. There was not much pace on the ball and we would have been dissapointed conceeding a goal like that.

The referee was not too bad, let a lot go but perhaps got a few divisions wrong, but he maintained his control regardless and talked too when another may caution.

Worst decision of the night was the assistant referee flagging for offside from a throw-in!!!

Look forward to another semi-final now.

agree from what watching the game that sandhurst were the better team in the 1st half and the left winger was causing a few problems with his pace and delivery. but farnham came out stronger and thought were better team in the 2nd half.

though the referee looked out of his depth as the pace of the game meant he could not keep up. he gave random decisions and feel farnham should have had a pen at the end.

was that sandhurst 1st x11 as i thought they would have been a bit stronger (may have had an off night).

but good luck to them in the next round

I would say an off night. The pitch made if difficult to play the football that we normally play but it was the same for both sides. We had a centre back and full back missing plus one or two carrying knocks. Other than that it was pretty much first XI

Seeing as we've included non CCL results on this thread, Dons ressies won the Suburban Champions Cup last night (yay!). Video is available in the videos section, may be of interest to the South Park contingent ahead of the forthcoming final!

what you think of the game tuesday molly? shame about what happened after the game tho.

I got to watch it for 90 minutes unfortunately as it was a poor game all round. The only real plus for us from the game was the 3 points, we have some younger players who spend too much time trying to wind up the other side and getting involded rather than concentrating on the football side of it." There young, there learn" (they probably wont but i love that saying!). As for the handbags at the end, our RB and your LB were at it all game, best thing would of been to put them in the ring and let them sort it out. You come off limping injured?

yea mate, broken toe, absolute killer. when i come off i could hear the pair of them at it, should of just left it on the field. as for the game i 2 horrendus mistakes again for us to lose the game and i our right mid had to good chances to score but thats what we ve been like all year, you had good chances in the first half aswell, thought a draw would of been fair but credit to you lot you never stopped going.

Think the 3 was still seething from gifting us the winner, hope the toe is fixed for the game at our place.

I'm trying not to sound like all my posts are about referees however.........The referee on Tuesday!!??

If you are going to referee a game like a dictator!!! Then you must at least be good at what you are doing! Referees should not parade around the pitch speaking to players like they are 5 year olds when they cannot get the basic decisions right!!!! If your mistakes are then highligted to you and you realise that you may be wrong, please do not display a complete lack of moral courage by dealing with situations in a manner that befits a spoilt child!!!!

Got to agree with you Inbetweener, "he was out of his depth"!!
