The Griffifhs brothers gave Oasis their big break by setting them up in a studio in Liverpool. Definitely have to get my hands on this album.

I've heard of The Real People. Were they signed to Creation Records, or were they just mates of Oasis? I think they were present at the infamous King Tut's Wah Wah Hut gig. The Griffiths brother's claim that they co-wrote one of the early Oasis songs- Supersonic or Live Forever I think- and that Chris (was he the singer?) taught Liam how to sing in a studio enviroment, hence why their vocal styles may seem similar.

I've seen them live about 3 times as well, they are still going.

They have a website here

And for your Oasis facts, here are some Real Facts as nicked from the site

Quote:

Real Fact:

In the early '90's during a gig with the Manchester band Inspiral Carpets they met up with a hopeful roadie named Noel who mentioned that he also had a band with his brother. Tony and Chris invited them to record some demo's at their studio in Liverpool. Noel and Liam's band Oasis spent some time recording a live demo at the studio, during which time Chris co-wrote a song with Noel called Rocking Chair, which was later to become the B-Side of the Oasis single Roll With It.

Real Fact:

Oasis chose to record their first single Supersonic with The Real People at The Pink Museum Studios in Aigburth, Liverpool. The Griffiths boys can be heard providing backing vocals, and are credited on the single.

Real Fact:

During their time before Columbia the Griffiths brothers had written numerous songs which were buried in time. One particular song, One By One was to re-surface 10 years after conception on an album entitled It's A Man's World by Cher. It was released as a single and became a Top 10 European hit for her.
