Funny old game football - Farleigh do the double over Warlingham, who do the double over Frimley Green, who do the double over Farleigh. The good news is we can probably all try again next season, as I cannot see any of the teams being promoted or relegated futbolbud2.gif

Also would like to say from the farleigh committee they would like to express there thanks to Martin bugden ( bugsy) the warlingham player for the hospitality of buying the farliegh boys a jug at the end. Also to the farleigh chairman and groundsman for folking the pitch to get the game on.

Yes a big thank you from myself as well to dave. Dont think the game was in doubt once th referee had got there and seen the pitch. Along with my chairman, secretary and the whyteleafe groundsman the help of others certainly got the pitch in a better condition. Attended by 154 it is something i would certainly consider doing again even if the result last night went against us.

WARLINGHAM 2-3 FARLEIGH

The eagerly awaited Friday night local derby fixture between Warlingham & Farleigh arrived.

With Farleigh winning the previous meeting 2-1 at Croydon Arena back in January anticipation and expectation loomed.

Trevor Giles' motivational team talk seemed to inspire Farleigh after their midweek narrow defead to Frimley Green when Kieran Dias had his low shot finely saved by Danny Coote in the Warlingham goal only for it to fall into the path of Scott Robson back from suspension to slot into the empty net.

Warlingham replied quickly with equalising header from Danny Mac.

Farleigh took the lead again after a Liam Neaves free kick was drilled into the penalty area for it to be headed into the goal by Warlingham's James Cecil.

Once again Farleigh were caught out, a poor clearing header looped up for Rideout of Warlingham to head into the top corner.

Five minutes before half time, Farleigh's stand in centre back Martin Dell brought down Lee Jansen and see the referee point to the spot.

Richie Bull after saving a penalty the previous week had a huge responsibility to keep Farleigh in the game before the break.

Danny Mac stepped up for warlingham only to see his poor effort comfortably saved.

Half time 2-2

Second half was a more contested battle in the middle of the park.

Warlingham had a chance cleared off the line by Farleigh's Johny Gladwin.

Kieran Dias saw his snap shot ricochet off the upright, and also forced Danny Coote to pull off a fine bottom corner save.

Substitute Sam Blowers had a golden opportunity to put Farleigh in the lead only to see his effort sale wide of the open goal.

The breakthrough came from another Liam Neaves free kick whipped into the danger area for Richie White (ex Warlingham) to turn into the bottom corner.

Ten minutes of added time had Farleigh's backs to the wall. One last attempt by Martin Budgen was acrobatically tipped over the bar by Richie Bull.

Final whistle 3-2 Farleigh.

With 150+ in attendance this was a huge boost for Farleigh.
