Nice Guy,FARLEIGH is not a Town,it is a small village,4 miles from Croydon, has 1 pub the Harrow Inn,and a18 hole Golf Course,on reclaimed Farm Land.Weather sunny and windy in Croydon so can see no problems with the game going ahead tonight.Could there be another upset on the cards tonight at the Arena?

FARLEIGH vs. MOLESEY

Once again in the premier league cup Farleigh are the underdogs.

Farleigh welcomed back top scorer Paul Spencer after three weeks out with an ankle injury.

The game started in a speedy fashion, Molesey playing good football trying to break down Farleigh but to no avail.

Richie Bull in the Farleigh goal was kept busy with an onslaught of crosses & corners and dropped nothing.

Sam Blowers came close in the first 10 minutes, shooting on the half volley from a tight angle forced a smart save from Molesey's keeper.

At such as fast pace the first half came to a close at 0-0

Second half Farleigh still fighting to get time and space on the ball but Molesey's closed and pressed hard.

A well worked move from Farleigh starting with a well timed sliding tackle by Liam Giles, gave Martin Dell time to put a ball through for Sam Blowers who lost the ball but Farleigh's left back Jonny Glads was fastest to react who guided the ball to Paul Spencer's feet who turned and produced an exquisite lob over the keeper to nestle in the back of the net.

1-0 Farleigh with 30 mins to play.

Molesey piled on the pressure but the two golden oldies of Roy Newnan & Dan Wayman in the centre of Farleigh's defence were first to everything Molesey could throw at them.

A neat passage of play on the edge of the Farleigh box allowed Molesey to score an equaliser with 10 mins remaining.

Molesey pressed the Farleigh defence and nearly got through again but for Richie Bull to quickly react & produce an instinctive save to keep the scores level.

Sam Blowers came close to scoring the winner but only for him to meet the ball a second too late and hit over the bar from 6 yards.

1-1 at full time - into extra time.

Kieran Dias replaced Paul Spencer just before full time to put the Molesey defence under more pressure with his rapid speed.

A catch from a Molesey corner by Richie Bull who unloaded Farleigh right back Mark Whittaker who with pin point accuracy drilled the ball to Kieran Dias who twisted and turened tge Molesey defence and slammed into the bottom corner to put Farleigh 2-1 up.

Second half of extra time saw Molesey continue to pressure the Farleigh goal but once again could not break the defence down.

Farleigh held on for a memorable

2-1 win against high flying Molesey in the CCL premier division.

A true underdog story of pure grit, determination and courage from all Farleigh players.

Great win for us, proves we can mix it with the "best" of the ccl, there's no wages down at farleigh but what we have is togetherness and we all battled for each other last night roll on the semis :)
