I don't know much about this new stadium proposal at the arborvale site

all i know about it is that the council have approved of it and the next stage is planning

is there anything else to it? maybe a finishing date? or capacity and facilities around the stadium.

Adil, details of the new Stadium below - not long to go ;-)

Posted on 08-07-09.

Rebels plans for new stadium were approved by Slough Borough Council on Monday evening. I am very pleased to announce that after many years of uncertainty and heartache the club has finally received approval from Slough Council to bring the club back into Slough – where it belongs!

Confirmation was received to our proposals on Monday evening which included:

1. A new community football stadium

2. 81 residential dwellings (the majority of which will be affordable)

3. A 3G ‘state of the art’ artificial pitch

I am sure you agree that this is fantastic news which will provide a focal point within Slough and present opportunities for increased participation in sport and associated activities. As well as providing a new home for the club the facility will deliver community activities which will enhance public health, promote community engagement and provide great opportunities for young people.

We are all aware of how much time this has taken and I would like to thank everyone for their patience. During the process we have been keen to work with all parties and the club is very grateful for the hard work, time and assistance that the officers have given the club.

In due course more detailed plans will be released and we are now working towards having a detailed planning application submitted by the end of the year. It is anticipated that the stadium will be completed sometime early in 2012.

Once again thanks to everyone who has been involved with taking this forward.

Have a great summer!

Steve

Adil, the other option put forward by Councillor Richard Stokes on 25th April 2006 in reply to Ted Plenty's letter, is to have an:

"amalgamation with another well-managed local football club that would enable the enthusiasm of Slough Town supporters to be harnessed to an organisation that has been free from financial irregularities"

- I think he was talking about Windsor and Eton FC? If not them it must have been Burnham?

Oh thanks a lot mate, so it's only around the corner now :D

I really can't wait, our home attendance will boom and i for one will be getting a season ticket and i'm sure many will follow.

i just hope it's a stadium with seating areas and not just the one, to be fair if we can get just under 300 when we play out of town, surley we can get just under 600 if we play in Slough.

Fingers crossed the stadium plan comes out soon.
