1. 1969 - Abbey Road is recorded, first man on the moon, and the world is generally a better place.

2. 1989 - Madchester starts and the Berlin Wall comes down.

3. 1939 - Wizard of Oz is made and WWII begins.

4. 1999 - Spurs win the Worthington and City get to the Trophy Semis

5. 1899 - The Boar War? It was around that time anyway

Actually, on reflection, 1999 was sh1t. Two matches don't make a year, and football aside, the rest of the year was fked up.

1929.. start of the great depression (i think) lots of fat americans jumping off skyscrapers having spunked all their dough on a share price bubble on the back of the miricale of the wireless.. they said it would never happen again..

fast forward to 1999 and the start of the internet boom

ww2 saw..no forced, some of the greatest invevtions mankind has ever seen into mainstream life.. sure a few tens of milions died but what price progress..?

I quite like Oz, I'll do the USA please.... not only would it get rid of all our nuclear waste and general waste but it'll probably bring about world peace, hence the slashing of any defence budget and 2p off income tax!

Forgetting your gripe with the USA's politics and people etc., I reckon America must be one of the most fascinating countries in the world to travel round. I know people who have done three months travelling the States and cannot speak highly enough of it.

 

I'd love to go to Arizona and Nevada, Death Valley, the Rockies, Las Vegas, and take in some of the Southern states too - Louisiana and Mississippi.

 

Promised myself I'll do it one day.

i think taxing the septics for coffee, petrol, guns and burgers at 7 million per cent would be amusing.. and make tea imported thru boston tax free just for the irony angle .. which obvioulsy they wont get..

a 6 month 'lap' of the states is an ambition of mine as well. quite fancy the 'theme park tour' as well

Oh yeah - I want to travel America as well, that may sound odd!

The only gripe I have is with their administration, the people are just stupid so months of pisstaking will happen <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

well i know someone who when filling up his car, in Albuquerque

forgot to take the nozzle out and drove off (remembr u pay b4 u fill up) this with no insurance on his cadillac estate wagon and slightly dubious ownership

 

subsequently the petrol goes skywards, old bill callled, garage shut down...bloke feigns stoopid englishman and drives off into the sunset
