Just starting to properly get into this Led Zep double-CD now, SteveP, particularly the first one with their earlier stuff on it.

 

Since I've Been Loving You and When The Levee Breaks are top tunes.

 

Mind you, Stairway To Heaven is still the worst fking thing on it.

I prefer anything after Led Zep IV, although III has some pretty good tracks on it, albeit a bit folky.

However, I have the double CD, "BBC Sessions" which is great, mistakes and all..............

Led Zep are brilliant.

Stairway to heaven is pretty dull until it really kicks in...

Songs like heartbreak,whole lotta love,kashmir,communtication breakdown and the immigrant song are great.The guitar playing is absolutely superb.

I well remember Jimmy Page turning up at a Wild Party on a 'posh' private estate in the 60's, down at Middleton, just outside Bognor !

I've said II was my personal fave, it's just blues rock done to a tee. IV is pretty amazing and the problem with Stairway is that has been over-hyped and over-played, that's not to say I don't think it's a good track, but I prefer Going to California and Rock and Roll on that album..

 

You can now pick up II and IV for about £6 and I promise any non-believers it's money well spent.
