On Line Petition update

We are providing an interim position on the petition to the council later today.

As far as the on-line peition is concerned, we have collected 188 signatures but only 52 will be acceptable to the council becasue they do not include an address.

Can I ask that if you are one of the signatories not to have included their adress that you do so as soon as possible by going back into the petition, deleting your initial entry then re-signing the petition. Guidance is included on the official webste and the on-line petiition itself.

Failing that, if you have not already done so, can you make arrangements to sign a paper petition. Petition sheets can be downloaded from the club website by the way.

Thanks for your support.

Presumably you have their email addresses, so why not email them and ask for their address?

No. The system uses email addresses to validate the entry. Please be assured that my request is based on an understanding of the requirements for a valid petition from the council and how the on line petition system works.

Interesting little exchange on Cllr Moore's blog about petitions. Seems people from outside the area won't count. Though whether that means Thanet, Margate, the ward, Hartsdown Road, or whatever is unclear...

I'm convinced there is something unethical at best in Moores talking about a specific planning issue in a public blog that surely is at odds wit his responsibilities in public office. A murky world for some, politics.
