Because he was a twat with a screw loose. He didn't react straight away did he, he waited till the end of the game. Pre-meditated and dumb. Hope the police press charges as well.

the reason i asked the question, was so we could all understand how insignificant, a decision in a football match really is.

remember an incident couple of seasons ago,when dorking lad did the same thing during a game. not sure what punishment he got. seems these things are swept under the carpet. when all should be named and shamed.

Looking back on this I'm glad the ref is glad to take to the pitch again. I hope Guildford put this behind them, they did the right thing and immediately got rid of the player, fair play too them. As for the player, well a good hard long look in the mirror, followed by a written appology to the ref, Guildford City and also the Surrey FA would be a start, and maybe an anger management course.
