Outside Cannon Street train station there is a man preaching GOD. Well that got me thinking.

 

My Place of Worship is not a building. It has no walls. My Place of Worship is a little piece of grass at the end of Park Lane on Canvey. I don’t have ONE GOD, Just like the ROMANS & ANCIENT GREEKS, I have several. Gladiators. Sometimes dressed in White, or Blue, or Steward Orange. But mainly in YELLOW. ALL wearing the CIFC GULL on their chest with PRIDE.

 

We have a Choir. An Army Choir. The MIGHTY YELLOW ARMY. Who sing our Hymns with gusto, Loud and Proud. For the whole 90 minutes of the service. Or until our voices have gone.

 

We are a friendly bunch. Always willing to help out the Bar Stewards in Black. Politely advising them when they get a decision wrong. Praising them when they get it right.

 

So let me call upon ALL you Yellows. Join me on Tuesday Night. Down by the Sewage Works. Bring your best voices with you because if the TWELVE MAN was ever needed THIS IS THE DAY!!!

Singing from the start, get it rocking TGE, its going to be a great game, and I go for a 2-1 Canvey win, attendance 600ish. Thats from our 320, their 180, although they have 20 odd of ours and 100 or so interested onlookers/lost supporters.

The fickle football fan, only interested in following a winning team, people would rather pay £50-£60 to watch the premiership tripe that is served up than spend £10 following their local teams playing a good standard of football, (well we do anyway ) The crowd should be 600 +, the interest from this game is pretty high, there will be plenty of faces that we wont see at a football until the next big FA Cup tie!!!!

Crawley took nearly 10,000 people to Old Trafford over the weekend, yet at a home game they below 2,000 on average. I just don't understand why anybody would want to go to a Premiership match regularly instead of watching a local team! Maybe it was because or was brought up on it, or I'm just mad!

And I love it when they show the fans and interview them, they always interview the 'Johnny come Lately's' who have no idea and couldn't name 50% of the team that played the previous weekend!!!
