Firstly with the C.C.L. Committee, only 4 games survived the weather today DISGRACEFUL,where were you,it is your flagship after all,or are you just like the various F.A,s around this country using your Clubs and Supporters as CASH COWS,FROM BEHIND YOUR COMPUTERS AND DESKS.FINE THEM FOR THIS £250 while a man lay in hospital, deduct a point because it's your rules.Fine them £50 for not attending after match HOSPITALITY,because it is your rules.Where can I ask does all this fine money go.I KNOW YOU WILL NOT ANSWER THIS QUESTION as previous posts concerning YOUR CLUBS from me never get an answer,ie GROUNDSHARING WITH RYMAN CLUBS,WHY CLUBS WITHOUT LIGHTS ALWAYS GET AN AWAY TIES IN CUPS,I COULD GO ON BUT WHAT IS THE POINT,YOU NEVER ANSWER.

You see I can say these things because I am not a CLUB,just a mere supporter of non league football.

Not sure I understand your post Smudge ? Is it the leagues fault only 4 games survived the weather. who is in hospital ? who should they deduct points from ? Can you be a bit clearer when you have a rant ?

For once, I am not so confused. Smudge can well answer for himslf but his point is that the blazers lay out many petty rules that catch clubs left right and center that are used as easy pickings (shed load of yellow cards in amatch that the ref has lost contol in so they give out a £250 smack round the ear) as an income. Then show no interest that clubs let their pitches struggle year on year but then not coime to grips with really important things like officials ending up in hosptal but probablly allowing the purpitator to play on until the automatic suspension date kicks in. How many players does Guilford have to have sent off before someone asks questions about how there players behave. They must be in double figures for red cards by now.

Ignoring the obvious re the assault tell me why the league should help clubs who struggle with their pitches. If they do can they help clubs whose pitches dont struggle with say getting their gound up to scratch for the next level ?

My point does not concern Guildford at all,but Croydon F.C.s fine of £250 and 1 pt deduction, for failing to fulfill a fixture. When their Chairman/Manager lay ill in a Hospital bed.Compassion the C.C.L. have none. When Clubs can regularly call off games due to the weather, because their pitches are not maintained properly, thats o.k.,wrong kind of rain.snow etc. They tell them to get lights,a 50 seater stand, when only 2 men and a dog go to watch. But why do they not tell the Clubs to get some machinery to help maintain their pitches,no coincidence yesterday was that 3 of the 4 games that survived where at Council owned grounds,LUCK,?YES I know money and volunteers are hard to find, but not helped by the Petty Rules that fine Clubs for this and that. The Official C.C.L.Website is our flagship, but a bit like other things, has dropped back to being an also ran.4 GAMES on yesterday, was there a C.C.L. Official at your game.in 2 years having watched COMBINED COUNTIES FOOTBALL,I have only seen 1 OFFICIALat a game, that was at CAMBERLEY.

Thanks for making that a lot clearer Smudgey. the rules of the league are pretty much set by the FA and the clubs vote them in each year. Blame them.

With greatest of respect Smudge Croydon got of lightly. If the manager/chairman is ill in hospital i cannot see any reason for them not fullfilling the fixture ?

The players would have known were they were playing ?

If it is exceptable i would like to hear someone explain why ?

We have been done 3 points after our secretary got the games wrong on a suspension.

Genuine mistake but very harsh punishment on players and managers who had nothing to with what happened.

Were as the Croydon -players,coaching staff ect could surely have got to Molesey without their manager. Dont understand !

Did Molesey get the points ? (they should have )

My only issue with so many games of is that so many of them are called of so early.

What ever happened to a 1.30 pitch inspection ?

SMUDGY BOY, I TEND TO AGREE WITH EB HERE, SIMPLY BECAUSE A MANAGER IS ILL (NO DISREPECT TO THE CROYDON MANAGER) THE SHOW MUST GO ON, THATS WHY CLUBS ''SHOULD'' HAVE ASSISTANT MANAGERS AND COACH/COACHES TO TAKE THE GAME IN ABSENCE. CAN YOU IMAGINE EVERY MANAGER THAT CANNOT MAKE THE GAME FOR WHATEVER REASON THE GAME IS CANCELLED..... NO SMUDGY THAT CAN'T BE ALLOWED TO HAPPEN SORRY. SURELY THE CROYDON MANAGER/CHAIRMAN HAS GIVEN A LIST OF PLAYERS NUMBERS TO HIS ASSISTANT ?

SO I'M AFRAID IN THIS INSTANCE, AS A DETERRENT TO PREVENT ANY REPERCUSSIONS, I BELIEVE THE LEAGUE ARE RIGHT TO FINE CROYDON AND DEDUCT POINT/S OR GIVE THE 3 POINTS TO THE INNOCENT OPPOSING TEAM.

I agree with Steve, the points should go to Egham. If a club plays a suspended player they only lose points with no regard to who wins the game and that is not right either as it has given them an advantage. If a team makes a mistake, genuinely or not, the game should be awarded as 3-0 the other way then we all know where we stand which is what we all want. As the system stands a team can abuse the situation. As for a club 100% relying on one person as is on this occassion that cannot be right but dont get me started as that case was made by North greenford last year to the FA and they accepted it!

Stop knocking the CCL Officials, they're volunteers and do a great job,. I have seen them at many a match, only last week they were at Chertsey v Guildford. Sure we're all frustrated with the number of matches postponed, but the CCL can't control the weather. This season and last season has been particularly busy re-arranging fixtures and the amount of work that the CCL Committee put in must be huge.

Not sure where we would get the points from. In the game in question we played, in error, the suspended Adam Foulser, in a rearranged league match, and won. Had we lost we would have been fined but would we have had a points deduction? I don't think we would. When a club has one point deducted that is presumably because the same, or a similar infringement has taken place and the game has been drawn. It would be too easy for any club (and I know this means us as well) to say an administrative [****!!****]-up was a "genuine mistake", but there have to be some rules to cover this sort of thing or there will be administrative anarchy. Croydon, reliant on Dickson Gill though they are, ought to have played that particular game. This is all done and dusted for this season and the important thing is not to make the same mistakes again. For us it is the only time we have had points deducted, so I pray it is the last.

I just think that whatever the result the points should be awarded to the other team and a 3-0 scoreline given (unless the winning margin is bigger) plus a fine. Easy to regulate, no extra points given, just the usual three plus a fine. Not being critical , just feel it would leave less grey areas and its these that cause us headaches

Disagree CT. Suspeneded player comes on with 1 minute to go and his team are leading 4-0. Doesnt touch the ball and game is over. How can the side losing 4-0 have any right to the points ?

Awarding goals will never happen.

Can you envisage final game of season - Team A need to beat Team B by 4 clear goals to overtake them & win the League. Team B will go down the pub & await the fine but win the League

Or Team C need to avoid being beaten by Team A by 3 goals to avoid relegation...........

Hi everyone. This is my first post on the site. I've been reading with interest on the subject of games being called off yesterday and would like to point out that on Friday evening most of the games would have been on and probably not many clubs invisaged their games falling foul to overnight rain. This raises the problems that are going to be encountered by Guernsy FC if they are allowed to join the league, obviously along with many other problems that will surely occur along the way. In my humble opinion it is a daft move to allow them to join which throws up more cons than pro's and yesterdays late cancellations are great example of the cons.

The 3-0 walkover win is used in numerous places. The system is already open to abuse. Team A wishes to help Team C so plays ringers/suspended players and stop Team B winning. Result minus points to Team A but still stops Team B-my suggestion is a clear breach of rules results in a 3-0 loss whatever, no debate. Thankfully this whole issue is not a big one as thankfully it is only a few times a year a year a hardworking Sec makes a mistake, this year it was Egham, a couple of seasons ago it was ours and we got kicked out of the cup final. Bigger issue was a club not fulfilling a fixture and that needs clarifying

Haven't seen it used in any serious competitions. I had included notional 2-0 wins against no-show teams in my rules for 5-a-side tournament but County FA forced me to remove it as they state no goals can be awarded for unplayed matches.

For the record, only 4 games went ahead in the Ryman Premier Division on Saturday. It is not only CCL clubs who are suffering via wetter winters.

I blame god myself. Always knew he was a rugby man.;)

It is extremely difficult for clubs at this level (and especially those without any form of FA Charter Status) to access any FA funding for anything, including machinery Smudge.

I understand your frustrations but, believe me, they are no more than those felt by the clubs who are doing their best simply to survive at the moment.

I am certain that this year's AGM will be a long and drawn out one - an opportunity for new faces to get involved in the running of the league as well!
