Just spoken to Les Gold - W&F are 'confident' that the game will be on, although the match referee will make the final call.

Only Maldon & Tiptree v Ilford and W&F v Town remain on in the Divison at present..

 

On the positive side last February 27th when our game at Lowestoft - W&F's home game with Waltham Forest survived and the pitch was in tip top condition.

Fair result, I thought - Wingate kept the ball well, and their 10 looked a very clever player, and kept finding space by dropping off our centre backs. We could have had a pen in the 1st half for a foul on Leon, and I thought there could have been a foul in the build up to their pen (10 backing in on Kirby). I thought we were a bit lucky to get our pen awarded, as I couldn't see why it was given from where I was. Definite hand ball in the lead up to their 2nd, but it was a bout a minute beforehand (albeit it would have allowed us to re-group and take time out of the game).

 

Not unhappy with 2-2 - they're a good footballing side, and coming back from 1-0 down I'd have taken that any day, but it's a shame we didn't hold on for all 3 points. Good hardworking performance, with lots of industry from the midfield 3, and good to see Stuart get another 60 minutes under his belt. Plenty of positives for me.

It's another point gained and another game out the way with the play off spot in our hand's. We can all imagine how wonderful it would have been if games finished in the 89th minute last Tuesaday and on Saturday, but they don't. 13 games to go, we are 5th place. A win this Tuesday and again next Saturday should put us in a very powerful position.

Highlights below inc all four goals and the penalty decisions??? Apologies for the not usual quality of picture in some of the clips but the cold end camera didn't like the overcast conditions with not much light... not sure if Mr Scott and the other camera men and ladies had the same problem??

After watching the COLD ENDS video highlights , it confirmed what I thought yesterday, the key referreeing decisions went against us.

 

1- Leon was fouled in the box in the first half , we should have had a pen.

2- their penalty was soft and harsh to say the least

3- Leon , may have had another penalty in the 2nd half , debatable though

4- Gio was wiped out after winning the tackle that led to their equaliser ( we should have been given a foul , for a late challenge )

 

Any other opinions ???

Decent game which I thought we shaded, the ref was of Essex Senior League level at best, some of the decisions were awful, for both sides.

Enjoyable day, spoilt by the behaviour of some Wingate staff, whilst the handbags were being thrown around on the pitch at the end, certain stewards & in particular one individual that seemed to hold a higher position behaviour left a lot to be desired, all very embarrasing for him & his club.

Looking forward to Brentwood at home next Saturday.
