Minutes of the Councils meeting re - Hartsdown Park

I for one can vouch for the Learning Zone, my nephew has been lucky enough to attend not once but twice & this has greatly helped him with his schooling & needless to say he enjoyed every minute of it, espeically when he got to meet a player & get their autograph.

He also plays for one of Margate Youth teams & this has helped him to make friends, keep fit & improve his confidence & football ability, without the club these facilities are not going to be available & this would be a great shame for the local community. I just hope that the public meeting will give everybody a true understand of what Margate does/provides for the local community already.

Can't wait to see how many signataures we have managed to collect.

Up the Gate.

We have had vast amount of signatures. The response has been exceptional, far outnumbering the 550 from the opposition. Sadly addresses are required & a lot of these signatures don't have an addresss accompanying them. If you have signed online & not given an address please rectify it a.s.a.p as this will help more.

DO NOT sit back & assume your signature (& address) is not required. IT IS!! Every vote FOR this to go ahead is still greatly needed.

PLEASE GET TO THAT MEETING IN NUMBERS ON WEDNESDAY to hear the "TRUE" FACTS & to put to bed this scaremongering that has come from the opposition & Councillor (who is solely concerned with getting votes at the next election) Little does he realise he will lose MORE votes by damning this project than by opposing it)

Keep those signatures & addresses coming in!! On-line,at the club and at the meeting on Wedenesday night.

It would be good to see you come and support the club a on Wednesday. It needs more people like you to stand up and tell everyone what it means.

If there ARE any members of the public, the opposition in particular (& that particular councillor) looking in on here I would strongly urge you to turn up too at this meeting as things will be more clear to you than you have been led to believe.Lets REALLY see how much the opposition cares by seeing them turn up on the night to be educated with the "facts" both orally & imagery.

I am sure the clubs development partners will bring this out-but there must also be the small matter of jobs being created for the local community.

Maybe ,it may create a couple of extra jobs within MFC; but the hotel in particular, must be creating jobs for the local community-including opportunities for maybe family and friends of those who are possibly at this stage uncertain about the scheme

As you may of seen from one of our earlier releases, Travelodge's policy is to recruit all staff locally. Plus, there's the economic impact of hotel guest's spending. And when you put that in the context of the current jobs sitauation with Pfizer, then it all helps.

Not only the learning Zone- though Andy Moore and Sophie Chapman have had a massive impact on the youngsters attending. But, the Schools who bring their youngsters along to use the facility's, for free, as part of the community scheme.

Apart from working for the learning Zone I, pick up kids and parents in my Private Hire Vehicle( There you taxi drivers). The kids recognise me and I do get a lot of positive feed back from the adults as well as kids.

I was talking only last night as i was out canvassing for the lottery, to a lady whose, child goes to a special school. She said how it was helping her child, plus the coaching they received was first class. One Mother was telling me how they(parents and teachers) could not get the child to write. How the kid had been to the MLZ , as a consequence he had sat and wrote fer 11/2 hours on a subject that interested him(football). This had carried on after in his school work.

This is what the community will also be losing.

The learning zones are open to sponsorship as well as the club. If anyone out their is interested or knows someone who would be, please contact Andy or Sophie at the club.

PS, out of interest and for those out in the community who carp about the 5-a-sides not being utilised. They were fully booked when I popped in last night, they were having to turn people away.

One thing that MUST happen tomorrow night, is that all supporters behave in a dignified way. We don;t want any slanging matches with those against. The last time supporters showed their feelings was when they attended the council offices to protest, and conducted themselves impeccibly.

Those against the project will try and use any negativity they can to discredit the club.
