Just got back from the ground. Amazing what a touch of overnight rain can do. Pitch was acceptable yesterday afternoon.

 

Looks highly likely Dorking Ladies at Meadowbank will be called off tomorrow morning.

Funny how both games to survive in the Premier are both ARENAS,flat,level,with a drain off area.So much for hard standing of 1 metre,around grounds,bit like front gardens concreted over,no where for the water to go.Eversley have a lake next to theirs and is flat,great for drainage.Sheerwater,have never been there but believe it is an ARENA.

 

 

 

Hi Smudge,

 

That lake next to our pitch is created by the run off water from the field. If you visit in the summer, you'll find no water on that bit of land.

 

It was a close call for us on Saturday though and it required the committee members and players to work on the pitch for over 3 hours to ensure the game went ahead.

Well done in getting the game on,your players joined in the mopping up operation,then won 3-0,hope you bought them all a drink.
