Shake up needed in C.CL.

Now being in my 2nd Season watching C.C.L. Football, somethings need to change to improve C.C.L.1.

1.Clubs to be given 1 year to get Lights,it cannot be a level playing field if Clubs with Lights have to host Cup Games,League Games in midweek against these Teams, the cost is all one way.

2.The League must implement a rule that if a Team finishes in a promotion place, but does not meet the Promotion criteria, the next highest placed Club with promotion criteria gets promoted.Lets be honest Staines Lammas,Warlingham, put their hands in their pockets by Groundsharing this Season at great cost.Worcester Park as an example will never do this, and at their current ground will never have the Criteria for promotion,is it right that they can deny another Club promotion.NO in my opinion.

3.Clubs that finish in the bottom 3 of the Premier, but do not get demoted, cannot attract Players due to their position in the League. But if they were relegated to Div 1,they would have time to regroup and as Dorking proved, would bounce straight back.At least they would have 1 good season,Winning Teams attract more support as well.

4.Chris Claphams idea of play-offs is a good one,but will these Leagues moot the idea to the Hierachy?I liken the tier system to the Dockers,Print, once your in the other Clubs fight tooth and nail to keep you in.Only result though is Staleness,Apathy, and a decline in numbers watching.

5.A Question I have asked numerous times on here, needs to be answered too. This could decimate C.C.L. Football further, what action have the C.C.L.taken over the Ryman Leagues 1 Year Groundsharing Rule,or are they going to leave it to Godalming again. It is their League after all, they are very keen on Guernsey joining, but NO COMMENTS ABOUT GROUNDSHARING WHY?

1 - Yep agree but need to be careful otherwise the league could lose a lot of clubs in one go. Knaphill would have gone under that rule and Eversley too. Is that what we want ?

2 - Need to take that up with the FA because I am sure the CCL do not have a choice

3 - Yes they should be relegated but what if there is no-one able to come up ?

4 - Would support a sensible idea for play offs.

5 - Groundsharing. Dont get me started

At the moment I would personally look at reducing the Prem to 20 clubs and the 1st div to 18.

i'm against it too but for the obvious reasons that i feel a club should have a base and not have to play somewhere else to get promoted. It defeats the whole object. Southall did it for years and now look where they are! Feltham did it for ages and have gone nowhere!

Its ok if a club has a plan but its got to be a plan that has realistic features and that is sooner rather than later!

the reserve league also needs a look , as there are more and more teams who's 1st teams ground share (mole valley and warlingham just 2 examples) and do not allow there reserves to play at there ground. therefore a few reserve teams are playing at park pitches and putting a rope round. bookham and mole valley reserves play at the same ground (one of the worst pitches i have ever seen) on a massive hill , wheel out dugouts and a rope. i understand it is reserve football but this must effect the type of player that plays at this level and the standard of football on show.

Nimby's stop Clubs from playing/improving at their base,Camberley's on hold or withdrawn due to local hostility to their plans.Warlingham,Farleigh,Staines Lammas similar. But at least they have made an effort, like Coulsdon did,if Coulsdon had finished 3 rd would they still be a Div1 Club YES,others make no effort and are rewarded.

I think that's one of the reasons that more CCL reserve sides have made the switch to the Suburban. I know you play at much better grounds overall in our reserve side in the Suburban South, than you do with our first team in the CCL1!!

I also think that a Div 1 playoff for the sides finishing 3-6 at the end of the season would be a great idea. You would only have to extend the league by 1 week with a mid week match at the 3rd and 4th places teams home ground, followed by a Sat match for the "final". This could possibly be played at the Prem Champions ground?!?!

i know these 2 clubs have had plans and promises fall through. i read last year that felthams new ground was under construction.

maybe another false promise, made by a local authority.

Feltham arena 'should' have been reopened back in August. I understand peoples comments against sharing, but what if it's unhelped? Like our situation? Building firms started then went bankrupt through the recession, council keep fuc*ing us over and many many more reasons. The summer of 2009 they'd constructed all area for the pitches and started laying drainage and seeding, only for the plans to be put on hold all because the council planners wanted around £4k JUST to look at the plans in a one hour meeting...I mean WTF?!? They even agreed to plans but then years latter tell us the clubhouse/car park needs to be at another angle, it's bullsh*t!! Because of the disagreement to do this and more constructors giving up the pitches died up the all the tonnes of rubble left laying there. I will take some pictures one day and post them to see how our home has been left, it's gutting!

It's not like we're broke (but going that way), we pay a hell of a lot to play where we do with naff all training facillities and personally I think the people at the club and behind the scenes deserve a massive pat on the back for trying to keep the club going and keep it's history alive. They've got the balls, heart and the will to make themselves in debt JUST to keep a local club fighting...More people like these needed!

Sorry this isn't meant to sound like a rant, just annoying when the plans and finances are there to make one hell of a sports complex for all, but the council just don't want to know or break their back to help the community!!

we do and we are very grateful.

There always a flip side though and one must feel for Sheerwater and the way the council let the Athletics club treat the football club is shameful. Hopefully something can be sorted for the ffuture

I'd love play off's in division one but until every side has lights and grounds ready for the Prem it just wouldnt work as your sure to have a couple of sides in the mix every season that cant be promoted.

Sad thing is Wattsy it is a story that is reflected many times in many areas. Westfield and Knaphill should think themselves lucky with their council.

I know mate and knowing the Westfield and Knaphill lads, I know they're grateful. Just show how good Woking borough council are and have the time for grass roots sports.
