Budgets

Interesting comments!

One of the things I have come to realise about football at this level is that the most important asset any club can have is a manager/coaching staff who have the contacts to bring in good quality players with little or no budget, create a sense of togetherness and a will to play for each other. He does not even have to be a great tactician! For any ESL club, the coaching staff is where their limited budget should be spent or as in most cases, simply appreciated. We all know of a few teams in the ESL who have created exactly that atmosphere. Some people are in denial. They claim "they must have a budget". Its not called a budget. Its more precious than that!

Interesting point re the coaching staff, especially as at this time of the season. Even if clubs have the facilities to train/coach, when most training pitches are like bogs, the games come so thick and fast that coaching is more or less restricted to theory rather than practice.

Sorry, I meant to say I dont see your point! What as that got to say with with regards to managers, coaching staff?????

I guess what I'm trying to say is that i personally don't think that coaching staff get to influence teams (at ESL Level) that much at this time of the season, as the games come so thick and fast so that there is very little time to actually train. Therefore there is little point in spending limited budget on them. I say that even though my son is a UEFA 'B' Licenced Coach.
