A new thread as I didn't want it buried at the bottom of another.

Excellent! The fight back begins!! Oh & if the council are after extracting more money from the club after all the thousands already made to them by the club by further delaying things then I for one will be writing to the highest authority to investigate.

I would urge others to do the same.

This is not right & is most unfair & it shouldn't be washed under the carpet. Fighting talk? Yes indeed! The fightback begins NOW!!

My message to the council... PLAY FAIR or take the consequences! It is YOU who will be paying for this in the end if investigastions prove to be simply a hindrance on your part & an attempt to extract yet more money from the club.

This is my own personal message & not the clubs. I for one will NOT see this quashed unchallenged.

Wasn't the time for winning over the residents a few months ago? The anti-petition was set up last summer, wasn't it?

Thanks for pinning this Alan.

I appreciate that everyone has lots of questions, but to be honest there are not many answers we can give right now.

One thing is for sure, without the hotel, re-building the stadium to the intended standard becomes exteremly challenging.

Thanks in advace for your support.

Who started this petition, does anyone know? I believe majority of signatures have only gone on since planning permission was announced in local papers.

I note it was being promoted a little while ago on the Ramsgate Forum. Now given that is hosted on the official Ramsgate website, I struggle to make sense of how the club allowed it, given it was in effect promoting a cause to prevent a fellow Ryman League club progressing. I would imagine that those Maragte fans who sometime pop across the watch Ramsgate when Margate are away might be tempted to think twice about doing so again. :flame:

I must admit I did see some posts from Ramsgate fans which did surprise me, knowing some of them well.

Agree Steve I can never understand when Margate fans watch them especially if reserves are at home too. Its their choice though, but I know where I would rather my money go too.

Not being one of the brightest fans, could i take up the gauntlet raised by Broadstairs Dave on another thread. why not build the Hotel as originally planned, and keep the other 11 rooms, if not leased out this time, perhaps MFC could take on the ownership and use them for Match & stay offers for travelling fans, even for players. Could this be a money earner for the club????

The sickening thing about the comments on the forum is that they are totally inaccurate. For the writer to say that vast areas of both Hartsdown and Tivoli parks are going to be demolished is tantamount to libel. To base a petition on these facts is unacceptable. The club will only be building on a small area of park and other areas will be bought back into use for recreational purposes, i.e the pitch and putt course, something that they have not been used for for quite a few years. This should be something that the club might wish to follow up on.

The consultation period has been and gone and I cannot see what purpose a new petition will make, particularly when it appears a large amount of signatures may be from Ramsgate residents. I think the the original protests were about 150 which were local residents, and the plans were accepted. There appears to be a hidden agenda behind this which is quite disturbing as there does not appear to be any major changes to the original proposal, apart from the fact that it slightly smaller! I just don't see why the planning committee are making the club go through this again, it doesn't make financial or political sense. Perhaps a letter to the planning committee asking them to explain the actions would shed some light on things.

However, as stated above, there will be far more positive signatures than negative, so I cannot envisage any problems there.
