Some referees might have given a yellow cazrd on the grounds that Cooper did not have possession of the ball, or indeed on the basis that a 40% chance is not a 'clear' goalscoring opportunity.

On the other hand the defender made damn sure that Cooper wouldn't get the ball and that contact was outside the area so he can't really grumble.

Was i watching another game,or were you,Tom S.....Cooper was running clear on goal(with the ball)when the solitary defender(who was 2 yards behind him, managed to grab hold of his shirt twice ,bringing him down on the edge of the box, thus preventing Cooper a clear goal scoring oppotunity.

I would also like to see a rule change ,where the ref could award a penalty and a yellow card.......Even more controvercial,How about giving the offending team the option of wether to take a red card,or let the ref award a penalty.

From my viewpoint the ball was ahead of Cooper, but that may have been the result of the first shirt-pull you saw. I obviously only saw the second. At that stage the ball had definitely got away from him even if only briefly. If I'd seen the first tug I'd have had a different opinion.
