Not a CCL game but saw an absolute belter of a game in the Surrey Senior Cup last night Corinthian Casuals 3- Whyteleafe 2 . End to end throughout it could have been 20 18 there were so many chances . Whyteleafe made a stirring near comeback from 3-0 down late on but if Alan Hansen was there he would have described their defending as "absolutely shocking". They were quite lively up front so I can see how they've had some big scores lately .

Nice to catch up with El Gaffer over there . The lack of other games locally inflated the crowd who were well entertained.

Not CCL, but went to see Weeb's H&R boys lose 3-1 to Wimbledon at Walton Casuals. Decent game played in good spirits, with intelligent play from both sides and a good ref to boot! The Hampton keeper didn't have the best of nights though.

Pleased you enjoyed it m8.... we always try and play football. Our keeper was close to tears after handing them a 2-0 lead, but he is only 16 and after an oustanding performance on Saturday he make 2 mistakes.....I explained to him that is what happens to you when you are learning your trade and hopefully he will learn.

He looked older than 16! So Jack Turner was the veteran keeper last night then!

He certainly was....... M y oldest player last nite was 21, Centre half who broke his nose...played on and came off during the second half... My other centre half was 18 who came off at half time with a knock on an already brused bone. My Skipper, another center half and usual captain was watching the game so all in all we did quite well the keeper...Luke has been with me now for 16 months and and was as big when he came to us as he is now.....Smashing lad, texted me last nite and appologised, I asked him what for...Was he sorry for winning us 3 points on Saturday.... He will learn and I know him well enuf to know that he will put it in on Thursday nite and have a stormer on Saturday against Leatherhead.

Wembley 0 Chertsey 1

I made the trip to Wembley, and after getting stuck in traffic and my whole journey from Chertsey taking 1hr 45 mins, i was thankful that due to an assistant referee change, there was a delay in kick off until 8pm. So my arrival at 7:50pm, meant a could get a cup of tea and get ready for the match. My arrival was made even better, cause as I entered the car park, I walked across our captain Jack Francis, who was in the squad for the first time since December following a knee injury.

The pitch was, to all surprised sticky but well playable and what an entertaining game we had. How the game was 1-0 was beyond me. Bradshaw made 2 crucial saves just before half time, Chertsey had 4-5 great chances in the first half. The 2nd half, and after the introduction of Francis on 55mins, was more comfortable for Chertsey and wave after wave of attack finally saw the illusive goal, with Phil Page hitting home from 18 yards to the delight of the 30 Chertsey fans who had braved the trip to Wembley. We were put under pressure in the last 5 mins, but our defence was solid and Bradshaw didnt have a save to make in the 2nd half.

A great team effort and a big thank you to Wembley for getting the game on. An open game, exciting 1-0! And a throughly enjoyable 40 mins drive home!!

7 wins on the bounce for the Curfews, last nights victory put us top for the first time since November, albiet with Guildford and Molesey with games in hand. But we are still top in Feb and at least it applies pressure to those around us!!

wembley 0.1 chertsey (page)

this result is just as big as saturdays win agaisnt guildford as chertsey were made to work very hard for another 3 precious points and with it regained top spot for the time being. the game started at a fast pace, probably due to the slick playing surface. both teams looked very dangerous going forward in the early exchanges and craig bradshaw in the chertsey goal was forced to make many important saves to keep the score at 0.0, as the half drew to a close chertsey started to take control and press forward a lot more and create many chances but were unable to make the breakthrough. the second half saw chertsey start brightly and they enjoyed lots of possesion but only really created half chances but the goal finally came mid way through the second when the ball was played into marcus moody, who held the ball up and laid a pass to phil page on the edge of the box who smashed the ball past the wembley keeper to give chertsey a deserved lead, the rest of the game was dominated by defences as chertsey mopped up all of wembleys attempts to equalise and chertsey just couldnt find the killer goal as the game ended just before 10pm (delayed kick off due to no linesman) and hand chertsey a massive 3 points and you could see the delight on matty pattersons face at the final whistle.
