AVELEY MATCH IS OFF TONIGHT

The match was called off by the referee at 6.35pm.

The council's contractor had been working on the end pylon this afternoon, but when the floodlights were switched on tonight, two of them (the original offending pylon and the one next to it) would not light up. This left the corner nearest to the entrance very dark, and the referee had no alternative other than to call the match off.

I am sure they are,but to call a game off that early when fans would of already left to get to the game is simply wrong.I don't believe for one minute that any fan would of complained if the game had of been called off at 7.30 or 7.45.But to call it off so early, not even trying everything possible to get the other lights working is wrong. As i said in my previous post on another topic,as i was walking in the ground the electrician was walking in with his tools, but the game had already been called off.You tell me that's right?

I disagree. There's bound to be someone complaining about something they think the club has done wrong somewhere along the line. As for the supposed excuse about injuries, we've had long term injuries to key players pretty much all season. I doubt very much we would use this to deliberately postpone a match at home to a team at the foot of the table.

Try looking at things positively.

Don't seem we can win with some people.

.

Called off at 6.35.

Allows fans to make other arrangements.

Call it off later with everyone there causes more problems like re-issuing tickets etc.

And for those who don't drink a wasted evening.

Situation beyond Hornchurch's control.

Like I said, disappointed the game didn't go ahead, but it's one of those things. Agree with all above
