First time i have been on here for a bit, Just to say how Simon Martin really made a huge difference yesterday and the substitution won us the game IMHO, nothing against Ben Porter who i thought was one of our strongest players but the 3 up top (or sonner behind Burnell and Martin- which seemed to happen more) worked brilliantly and i feel maybe we should try that more often if Sinky isnt about for a bit, Great game yesterday and a VERY valuable 3 points, well done boys!!

For the first 70 or so minutes we didn't look like a side that believed in ourselves, or that believed that we would ever get back into the game.

However when we got the first equaliser, all of a sudden we transformed. Even after quickly conceeding again, we pressed forward and somehow stole the win that for much of the game looked most unlikely.

We have shown that we can indeed outplay teams at this level, as the last 15/20 minutes proved. Why oh why can we not do this for more of the 90 minutes more often?

Very much a game of two halves where Aylesbury were rightly deserving of the 1-0 at half time as we had just not got going.

Secong half was far better with some spirit and determination to get a result. Simon Martin coming on made a major improvment to the shape of the team and way in which we played.

A very important 3 points to keep us in the challenge for a playoff place which has now got very tight.

Next week against Woodford will be critical to either killing off their chances of getting in the chase or us slipping out of the chase.

Disappointed again to see us picking up cards for decent - will certain players ever learn to keep their mouths shut? Bateman needs to clamp down on this hard as it totally undermines the other good work that has been achieved.

As we get towards the latter stages of the season, player suspensions could play a major part in our efforts to get into the play-offs and if we get into the play-offs.

If the disciplinary section is up-to-date we have Paul Coyne on 9 yellows, Sean Sonner 6, Logie 5, Burnell, Swift and Perkins on 4.

I wonder how many of those were for discent?

Does anyone know, at this sage of the season, how many yellow cards are required for 1 and 2 match suspensions?

As of the end of December, there is no longer a single game ban for five yellows, so those on four have six bookings before they would receive a suspension, which you would expect unlikely given they've only received four so far. Two games for ten yellows and three should a player reach fifteen.

So the only one in immediate danger is Coyne.

I just hope he has learnt from his latest ban because I don't think we can afford to lose him for the end of season run-in.

A miss timed tackle by a mid-fielder is un-avoidable but for him to get another yellow for dissent would be criminal.

isn't coyne serving his suspension now and will that nullify the present ones until he maybe gets another five yellows?
