Departures!

Let's be clear, players leave because they want to, the budget has to be managed or the manager doesn't think they're good enough based on training and matches. We've seen deartures for all these reasons this season.

Unfortunately-promising and potential are all a bit fluffy ,and in all the departures of the last couple of seasons ,most of those who have left for various reasons appear to have 'gone backwards '.

I don't think anyone who has left has gone on to better things-so in fairness to all of the managers-it seems to me that they have got it right throughout.

I guess us armchair managers want a reserve'fringe squad of 22 players ''with potential ' and hope that one will make it-but the club obviously cannot afford that luxury-so again- i guess the managers have got it right every time.

(even CK released Sesay despite 6 months earlier proclaiming him to be worth about £100K !!! ).

The sad fact is that it probably needs a club to sift through about 200 players before you find the one golden nugget-the rest as we have seen tend to go backwards-not forwards !!

Not always I'm afraid. Players also leave for a number of other reasons, it is not always as clear cut as budget or manager opinion! Money, man management, unhappiness - plenty of others.

Sad to see Kane go as I thought he did well when played, good luck to the lad wherever he goes, guess he wants minutes on the pitch rather than warm the bench!

His dad not a bad lad too ;)

Agree, Good lad that if given the chance would have be valuable to the club. Someone else will reap the rewards though....

If you want to play you have to turn up for training- even if you are the son of a Director!

That is interesting! I thought he was an asset .He looked capable at this level when he did play albeit briefly. He was useful at getting forward and i thought he and robinson left and right had something to offer. I can understand him wanting more playing time though. if you are right re training then agree that would be reason enough to let him go.Is there a culture at the club of players training when convenient?

Having done my own research, I think you'll find that Kane's dad was not a Director. The lad Kane was there off his own back, and was costing the club nothing as I understand it. So if you are not getting paid, attended training on a regular basis then turning up only to warm the bench isnt much fun!
