Town v AFC Sudbury

Enfield United

Big game tomorow and at the game will be or we expect their to be around a dozen of our youth boys who will be cheering on the Town and having a photoshoot with a player/s/board member or two.

It'll be great if we can bear in mind the youngsters are in our company when an opinion of the refereeing is bellowed out and at the same time the recent Adam Wallace and Leon Osei shuffles would be a nice treat for them to witness,

Let's get right behind the team tomorow (and i'm not implying we are'nt or have'nt been) and hope they can maintain the recent form

Well done everyone! Another excellent result today and three valuable points which lift us into 5th place in the league and into a play-off spot.

Today's victory was our 5th win in the last six matches, which have seen us score 19 goals and only concede 4. Great stuff! If we can maintain this form we won't go far wrong.

Congratulations to Steve and his players. Let's see what we can do against Cheshunt on Tuesday evening.

Thoroughly enjoyable battle between 2 solid teams. The result made the day feel even better. I felt we were the better team with Sudbury showing and proving that they will take points off the better teams in this division and will also be one of the play off candidates as the season goes on.

I must say though it took two quality goals to see Sudbury off. leon showed how his technique first led to him creating his own goal and then he and Jay raping the Sudbury right hand defence for Liam's quality finish.

Need to follow this up with 3pts on Tuesday though. I'm looking forward to the Cheshunt game, one for local rivalry at Step 4 level and secondly they can be a right pain in the backside for getting points off us.

Good performance yesterday. Thought it was close and in Sudbury's handsafter half time until we turned the corner and scored two well taken goals. Both goals came from wide play which really opened up their defence.

Quote from their keeper at half time. 'know where your goal is'. Shame he didn't know where the ball was when it went in the net.

Thought their number 7 and 10 were fast and good and appeared to be able to run all day.

Well done guys and here's looking forward to another three points on Tuesday.

Sudbury made life tough for us yesterday, particularly in the 1st half and they were clearly out for revenge, well organised and looking to stifle our play. They especially looked to close down Guns and Leon and had clearly done some homework from the 5-1 mauling. All I can say about their style of football is that it resembled a Stoke City, or Bolton Wanderers under Allardyce....... very much route one and not particularly pleasing on the eye. In the end though I feel our quality came through in an improved 2nd half performance and thanks to two well worked goals. This was after a first half where I felt our football at times was lacking some of it's usual quality, mainly due to wayward passing or poor decision making, but I guess we can't play like Brazil all the time ;-)

Good to see the guys playing with so much confidence and long may it continue. It's amazing how certain individuals are back playing at their very best with this re-instilled in them.

For me Gio has been immense in the last two games and for me he was definitely my Man of the Match yesterday. Sudbury only really threatened from set pieces and he dealt with pretty much everything, as was the case against Brentwood. This as always has been complimented by the composure and quality of Kirbs alongside him.

Jey has been excellent in Bardle's absence and the abilities and creativity he brings to the side are a breath of fresh air. Likewise I feel the side are benefitting from Jonah having a long and consistent run in the side and we are now seeing the very best of him having gained that match fitness you only get from playing 90 minutes week-in week-out. We are of course blessed with strength in depth across the pitch and players who compliment each others games, so this can only stand us in good stead during the playoff push.

Like me, I hope fellow Spurs fans will be putting Town first this Tuesday and backing the boys at Goldsdown Road!! :-)

Up the Town!!
