OLYMPIC STADIUM

NICE GUY

HI ALL ESPECIALLY THE FEW WEST HAM SUPPORTERS WE HAVE AS FORUMITES, I THINK THAT'S KROONZZZZZ AND MANAGER50 ?

WELL, JUST GOING OFF THE CCL TRACK, A DECISION TODAY WAS MADE ON WEST HAM BEING THE NEW TENNANTS OF THE OLYMPIC STADIUM COME SEASON 2014-2015.

I AM SURE NONE OF THE WEST HAM SUPPORTERS ARE PLEASED WITH THIS DECISION, INFACT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN GOOD IF THEY WERE ASKED, AS IT IS THEY WHO SPEND THEIR HARD EARNED MONEY SUPPORTING THEIR BELOVED TEAM ! .

A FEW QUESTIONS

- I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT ''NO'' BARCLAYS PREMIER CLUB ARE ALLOWED TO HAVE A RUNNING TRACK AROUND THEIR PITCH ?

- ON THE PITCH WILL FEATURE :CRICKET, ATHLETICS (SHOT PUT AND JAVELING SPRINGS TO MIND) AND MAJOR EVENTS (IE) CONCERTS ETC.,

- WITH ALL THATS HAPPENING ON THE PITCH, HOW CAN IT EVER BE IN LINE WITH OTHER PREMIER CLUBS PITCHES.......UPTON LANE NO MORE , NOW THE SPECTRUM ...........GET THAT SAND READY FOR THE POT HOLES ........LOL !

- FOR ME ITS A JOKE, AND I FEEL FOR ALL WEST HAM SUPPORTERS, 'COS LIKE THE SPECTRUM THE PLACE WILL BECOME SOULESS, AS FAR AS YOU CANNOT GET INVOLVED WITH THE GAME WHEN YOU ARE SITTING 80 METRES FROM THE PITCH ! .......... LACK OF ATMOSPHERE TO SAY THE LEAST !

- WILL HARD CORE FANS STOP WATCHING WEST HAM, WILL NORMAL WEST HAM SUPPORTERS GO TO WATCH THEM NOW ?

- IS IT A GOOD MOVE FOR ''FOOTBALL'' TO GO TO THE OLYMPIC STADIUM ? ........OR IS IT GOOD FOR THE WEST HAM CHAIRMAN AND DIRECTORS I ASK ?

............INTERESTING !

I am sure that if there was a rule about a running track not being allowed round premier league grounds, we would have know about it by now.

A running track didn't seem to do Bayern Munich any harm

A sad day for West Ham in my view (& Leyton Orient!).

This could be a disastrous move for them. Imagine, they get relegated this season (fairly likely) then get stuck in the Championship and so start at the Stadium as a Championship also-ran where crowds have dropped over the previous couple of seasons as they've struggled. Even worse if they do a Southampton/Leeds/Forest and end up in League 1 (not impossible). So a shiny new 60,000 all seater with an athletics track, seats miles from the action. After the initial hoo-haa, what would that be like with regular crowds of approx 20K? Awful. 20K in the Boelyn would still generate a reasonable atmosphere. 20K in that would be a nightmare.

All the history and atmosphere associated with the Boelyn ground, destroyed overnight. Just so that Messrs Gold, Sullivan and Brady can attempt to create a moneyspinner. A massive gamble and it might just be doomed to failure.....

HERE, HERE TRS WELL SAID.............. THIS IS HAPPENING FOR ONE REASON ONLY, TO LINE THE POCKETS OF GOLD, SULLIVAN AND BRADY - THEY DON'T GIVE A HOOT ABOUT THE HISTORY OF THE CLUB, FOR THE SUPPORTERS, THEY WEREN'T EVEN ASKED, NO BALLOT NOTHING AND AS I SAID BEFORE, THE SUPPORTERS PAY THE PLAYERS WAGES (OR HELP TOWARDS IT) AND THEY WERE NOT EVEN CONSIDERED WHAT NERVE, I REALLY FEEL SORRY FOR THE HAMMERS SUPPORTERS. DON'T THINK THEY WILL BE BLOWING BUBBLES MUCH LONGER ............... SO SAD, THE HAMMERS HARD CORE MUST BE SEETHING, NOW I WONDER IF THEY WILL GO TO STRATFORD ??? + 30,000 AT UOPTON PARK WOULD THEY GET 60,000 AT THE OLYMPIC STADIUM ON WHAT MUST BE QUITE AN IMAGINAL PITCH WITH A RUNNING TRACK AROUND IT.............I DON'T THINK SO !

I ASSUME THAT IT IS ACCEPTABLE TO HAVE A RUNNING TRACK AROUND THE PITCH IN THE BARCLAYS PREMIER ?

Was told many, many years ago, that if you want to see the overall play of the Game, sit as High and far away from the action as is possible.BEST VANTAGE POINT.Atmosphere at Grounds went when seating was mandatory,Surely.

As a West Ham fan, I'm still undecided. Upton Park was too small. The Olympic Stadium is too big. Ticket prices will be lower there apparently. Whether there is a running track or not, is not the issue, it's whether West Ham will be allowed to put retracting seats over the running track during games is the issue. This has worked at several other stadia.

The atmosphere at West Ham in a mid week game is one of the few that held after seating was forced in. I very much doubt that will be recreated at the Olympic Stadium. That said, to move forward as a club and out of the shadow of clubs like Spurs, we needed a bigger ground and more support. Getting a ticket at Upton Park for a league game is very very difficult unless you want to only watch the tat games. The season tickets are limited to a percentage of the capacity as well which was restrictive.

Whether Gold and Sullivan are in it for themselves remains to be seen, but they have forked out a hefty amount of dosh and reduced our debt by half in a year. They have backed a crap manager with some costly signings too, whilst holding on to prized assets.

The club I feel for is Leyton Orient, although there are murmurs that West Ham will fund and develop Leyton Orient's youth academy to help the club.

So thats a big I'm not sure from me.

I'm still twisted on this issue

In an ideal world the East Stand at UP would be knocked down and rebuilt right on the touchline aka the old chicken run.

However our ground has resemled a half developed cricket ground at times over the past few years and bar the Ipswich play off semi final 2nd leg the old magic hasnt been there since the pitch was moved away from the stands.

As a club this is our only real chance to progress and ourr one and only shot at competing with the 6 or 7 elite teams if done properly. All this rubbish being spouted on Talksport is ridiculous- we have a massive fan bass- even when we went down we still regualy got over 30K and sorry to agree TRS but attendances havent really dropped this season despite the sh!te we've had to endure for the most part.

So if done properly then yes it's a good move- if however ticket prices stay the same and we struggle then i personally along with thousnads of others will rid this world once and for all of Sullivan Gold and that gob sh!te Brady

Apparently the retractable seating I mentioned is a possibility Article

but the premier league are more powerful than the FA if you belive what Triesman says, and given the premier league have already given their support, as much as I sympathise with Barry Hearn's concerns, I dont think he will get anywhere.

That would make the seats go away, but what or who is going to make Leyton Orient disappear? Barry Hearn has stated that it is against league rules to relocate near to an existing league club and that he intends to fight this tooth and nail.To be honest , I dont blame him!!!

Leyton Orient can use Upton Park !
