Grant-McClellan Youth Cup

Recommended Posts

Knaphill U18's were made to worked hard for their 2-0 win over their Camberley Town counterparts in the Grant-McLellan Cup at Krooner Park on Thursday night. A undistinguished first twenty minutes mellowed into an open game with Knaphill playing dowm the slope and forcing a number of good saves from the Camberley keeper as well as some wayward finishing. Liam Welsh opened the scoring after ten minutes of the secound half with a clinical shot after good work down the right wing. Camberley pushed hard for an equaliser, but with just a few minutes left a long kick from Louis Martin saw super quick Bradley Fraser race on and slot coolly past the onrushing keeper. Cue wild celebrations from the whole Knaphill team.

A semi-final now awaits a Knaphill team, who in their first season, have already supplied at least four players for the 1st team.

Well done to Knaphill tonight. Fully deserved the win. We weren't really at the races.

Gotta sort out your timings though. 1st goal in the 63rd min, second goal was 90 +2.

The other quarter finals:-

Bedfont Sports v Croydon

Epsom & Ewell v Hartley Wintney

Hanworth Villa v Cobham

I haven't seen Croydon this season but I'd go for Bedfont Sports, Epsom & Ewell and Cobham to be the other semi finalists.

There's not enough on this site about U18 football which is a shame.

Thanks VPCTFC, I didn't record my timings tonight. Thanks also for the great hospitality.

I agree but how about a specific thread for it.

Nice player that Bradley Frazer......Have watched Knaphill u 18s a couple of times this year and they are a very good side. They are very well orgainised by a quality management team and I for one wish them every success. A couple of very decent players who I feel will have an enjoyable football career at a high level of football.
