Tonights ACYFL match off - water logged pitch - 10th Feb 2011

Game off - water logged pitch - Local ref inspected at 1-30pm

If it rains as it is and tomorrow ...we will require a pitch inspection on Saturday morning ... and that will be sorted for everyone...sake..

Hope so...as we have not had rain for a while the ground was like concrete ..so water was not draining away ..puddles everywhere..

 

..should be better on Saturday subject to a possible pitch inspection if in doubt ...

I thought SYCOB had a sprinkler system, so surely the ground shouldn't be "like concrete'.

Not at all, but I would have thought with regular watering it wouldn't have got rock hard which has caused the puddles and allowed a bit of drainage.

 

Maybe I am wrong.

the sprinkler system at Beaconsfield is run off a tank not the mains..and is going to be used to keep the pitch watered during the summer..mostly...

 

its takes about 12 hours to fill the tank ..then only 20 mins to empty it...is harder than you think...
