Wealdstone Vs Canvey Island

Recommended Posts

A very difficult place for us on Saturday, but we have been playing with more fire in our bellies just lately and I think we will come away with a well earned point, 1-1 with Healesy putting us in front and carrying on his recent scoring form. The Yellow Army to come away with the MOTM for their continued 12th man support!!! Keep the banter flowing , be loud and COME ON YOU YEEEEELLLLLOOOOWWWWSSSS!!!!!

Before they got Richard Jolly I'd have fancied us, but his presence seems to have given the whole side a lift. He's a top quality goalscorer at this level, and is obviously enjoying back amongst the goals. I'll go for a 1-1 draw, with Chris Moore scoring for us. I hope I'm wrong and we pick up all three as Shedboy says!

Both teams are bang in form right now & we are both finding the net regulary so I'm going for a 2-1 away win.

Rhodes & Curren with the goals.

Jolly always seems to find the net against us (aswell as other teams) but i feel if the boys at the back concentrate well enough then we could keep him quiet for a change.

Great away day last week at Hastings so let's hope we get the same superb support on Saturday!

Come on you yellooooows!

Tough game. Wealdstone have picked up after a slow start to the season.

I reckon a 1-1 draw with Rhodes scoring our goal.

Amazing how the bottom six teams picked up at least a point today and had it not been for Mr. Jolly's late equaliser we would actually be occupying a play-off position at 5pm.

What a game!!. It was good to see us keep fighting and working hard on what was a terrible pitch. You could see that all the players were shattered at the end of the game having given their all in a great game especially for any neutrals watching, and although it was a fair result, we were unlucky conceding in the 95th minute. Wealdstone would struggle if it was not for Richard Jolley who looked dangerous all afternoon and credit to our defence that they limited his chances. I am just surprised with the likes of easterford & morro we struggle to defend corners and free kicks, this seems to have been a problem this season and where we have conceded quite a few goals.

Well done lads!

Lets hope we can get something from Tonbridge on Tuesday.

Come on you yellows :excited:

Wow! What a game! After going 2 down I didn't expect us to get anything back from the game but that fight back was exceptional, we played so well in the 2nd half & you could see the lads playing with so much confidence.

It's always great to see players come from injury so to see Leon back in the yellow & blue shirt is very pleasing but I really felt he changed the game when he come on for the 2nd half, he was outstanding & gave their backline a torrid time & got another goal where he was very brave.

Even after they got their equaliser, you really couldn't walk away disappointed from the final score, we were just dahm unlucky the ball fell to that man Jolly who scored with a tidy finish.

The song at the end 'where proud of you' was very fitting & deserved. It keeps our un beaten run going.

Well done Canvey

Heard a rumour, we were 2-0 down and expected the worse. Was delighted when the final score flashed up 3-3 on Sky Sports.

Wealdstone are in decent form at the mo so a point is a good result there. Won't be an easy game on Tuesday but Tonbridge lost to Croydon on Saturday so anything is possible.

Apart from Jolly they didnt really cause us any problems. We were very unlucky to be 2-0 down at half time, but saying that although we had plenty of the ball, I cant remember us making too many chances. The half time talk did the trick though and we again had the greater possesion but this time with an end product. Gordo's goal took an age to cross the line and when Jason's rocket went in he went straight over to fantastic Yellow Army and celebrated what looked like the winner. When the referee indicated 7 added minutes I had a feeling they would equalise, and when the ball landed at Jolly's feet you knew it was a goal as soon as it left his foot! He is one dangerous striker, 4 shots on goal 3 on target and the other smashing the bar! In all fairness though, I would have taken a point before the game and I would have bit your arm off at half time, all in all a well deserved point and a really battling performance from the lads.

Just a small mention to the Yellow Army, there wasnt that many who made the journey but those that did once again sang their hearts out for the entire game and I didnt stand with them in the 2nd half because I was enjoying listening to them outsing the home crowd from a far!! They must have been outnumbered by at leat 15 to 1 but the Wealdstone fans were quiet, even when they were 2 up hardly a peep.I wonder how quiet it was at the Sewage Works the other week!!!! Onwards and upwards, come on Canvey, a similar performance on Tuesday will do please!

What a match!!! A real advert for non-league football... I was gutted we didn't get the 3 points in the end, but a draw was a fair result on reflection.

Gaffer sums up the match perfectly for me, every single player out there should be proud of their performance in the 2nd half.

Oh, and 6 games unbeaten!

Quite simply a top, top match! I was throwing the towel in at half time, luckily the players and management weren't as the second half performance was inspired. It was a shame that they equalised so late into injury time, but I would have more than happily taken a point after the first 45 minutes so this has to be seen as one point gained as opposed to two points lost.

Superb support from the Yellow Army, putting the home support well and truly to shame once again! Great banter on the coach as well, what away days are all about!
