whats the scoop so far then..? from what ive read the riccay have put together some good performance and been unlucky, tho it would appear last saturday wasnt one of those.. does the current squad have the ability to string a run together to make conf south? or will they fall apart.. does anyone know where a team has to finish to qualify automatically and how the play offs work..?

Coo Canv, loads of questions mate.

Want my opinion, well. Firstly about how I feel about last Tuesdays and Saturdays performance. I was disapointed and that is the reason I haven't made a comment on the site. I can't bring myself to comment and so let others do it.

Yep, we have put in some good performances and have been unlucky to a degree but it is a case of now, you make your own luck. My thoughts about the performance is that tho the team do try they don't seem to want the ball for very long and from my view, if we could stop giving it away cheaply, get a bit of confidence, we would be quite a decent team. The lads are young and if you have browsed this forum, you will note there seems to be a feeling that a couple of mature players to calm 'em down and direct the play on the field would not go amiss. I would agree with that but I'm not going to knock those that are turning up as they do try.

I think Saturday was the usual poor performance any team puts in but made all the worse with losing the amount of previous games for what ever reason prior to that. If we had won 3 and put that performance in, there would be griping but not at the level of real disapointment felt as Ford were nothing special. In fact all the teams we have played are nowt special which makes the position we are in all the worse.

As for the play offs, I'm not even looking that far. Me, I'm just taking it one game at a time.

Money could be the problem with loan signings

Plenty of good solid premier players available on loan but at what cost you only have to consider the wages payed where there are over sized squads (Canvey & Hornchurch for instance) and this touches on the basic problem

I said in an earlier posting to Gazza that it will take time for their new manager/Coach and young players to pick up the pace of the R/Premier but the period between now and that catch-up could be fatal in points lost

I agree with pabird. I haven't posted anything about the previous 2 games as feelings were running high and people are either getting tired of the performances or willing to give time for these to settle. Just don't want to get into an arguement...which some will say is unusual.

I can see what Justin wants to do with the team but it is a question as to expieriance and as we have a young squad, there ain't a lot about.

But still, lets hope for better results this week...

Think we might have to cross fingers and bite thumbs once more tomorrow night. I notice the following two games are against fellow strugglers, they might give us more of an idea as to whether we are going to climb out of this slump as we are or have to resort to a few experienced legs. I agree that the tendancy at the moment is to get rid of the ball as soon as we get it which does show a lack of confidence. Hunter/Patterson can look good on the ball and Andy Jones has heaps of experience, is Joe Baker going to be too expensive?
