A bit of food for thought...

Recommended Posts

Last night we played Mauritius at Wadham Lodge and they played with a black kit.The referee at half-time ask managers if it was ok to wear a yellow top and we said no problem. Now what do you think?Referee said that they are not allowed to wear other colours kits and I was surprised Mauritius didn't play with their usual white kit which is a nice one,aka Real Madrid one. What the league rules says about all of this?In Italy I have seen referees wear pinkgrin.gif

it is a grey area i reckon as I know the ESSEX FA do not allow teams to wear all black kits , yet Mauritius are probably governed by the London FA , so they may allow it . Black kits are ledge

I know specifically that Essex FA stipulate that referees have to wear black, I'm sure this is also an FA rule up to the Conference, that the officials wear black.

I hope the referee was not being assessed last night, otherwise he will be in a lot of trouble!!

Not true from memory. Might be wrong though.

I thought that the ref could not play in the same colour as either team anyway, and should have known before hand what the colour was and altered his top before the match.

Likewise the two keepers have to have different colours.

I know when I was at ESL matches as a secretary it caused issues on more than one occasion.
