Who's who of the ESL

Recommended Posts

I've been watching this forum for a little while now and have seen a number of teams play, last night I was at the Barkingside Stansted game and I have to say was not that impressed with Stansted.

They did not look like a side who will go top if they win their games in hand and I am surprised they have reached the last 16 of the Vase as they do not look like a strong side.

I would of thought that Enfield 1893 who I have seen on a couple of occassions would be more title contaenders as they look a much stronger outfit.

Burnham play some nice football and I believe that Mauritius will do well when there youngsters acclimatise to senior football.

From reading the forum it seems that Witham are the marmite of the league, with most people hating them, can some one please explain as when I have visited there club I have always found them welcoming.

Hi Spartacus, and welcome to the forum. A word of warning to you follows this so please take note.

Certain individuals on this site will instantly have their feathers ruffled by your posts. In particular an ESL club official who goes by the alias of Basil-Don. He will no doubt conjure some ridiculous conspiracy as to who you are and what your motives are. There will be newcomers joining the forum simply to "reveal" your identity.

I know this because I have suffered the same fate in recent weeks. I am relishing the onslaught you will face because it will take some of the "heat" off me.

I am surprised you make those comments regarding Stansted FC, although you may have caught them on a night when they rested players in light of the forthcoming FA Vase game. You shouldn't judge a book by its cover. If this is the first time you have seen Stansted play then you are not well placed pass judgement much like the people on this forum that will judge you straight away and label you a "tw.at".

I really look forward to some engaging debates with you over the coming weeks.

Kind regards - Mark H

Thanks Mark,

I have noticed that you have ruffled a few feathers of late, I will try not to be a T.W.A.T but I can only comment on what I see, perhaps I will pop over Stansted on Saturday to see if it was a one off.

What do you think of the ref's in this league, you seem to have an opionion on most things.

Spartacus, I myself am planning to travel to Stansted so will maybe see you there. I plan to get the C2C line into Fenchurch St, walk to Liverpool St, and get the Stansted Express. Could anyone confirm if this is the best way to travel to Stansted for someone without a car?

Sparty, I do not think much of the referee's across non league if I am honest. But the game cannot continue without them so we all (supporters and players) need to just accept they are what they are. I am sure most of them do not intentionally go out to imitate Hitler. We (Aveley) have had some bad decisions against us at crucial times this season but at the same time we have not been good enough to collect points when the decisions have been in our favour. Referees are an easy target but ultimately the cream will always rise to the top.

I do have to admit, that if you are having problems at home with your conniving, son of a gun wife who makes it her life purpose to make you miserable, it is a great relief to abuse a referee verbally from the touchline.

Mark,

As you seem to be the only person on here, perhaps you could give me a run down on the teams in this league.

As I have said before I have seen a couple of teams but not all of them, Enfield impressed me as did Mauritius, who have you seen who has impressed you.

Also why would people want to have a go at me just because I gave an opinion.

Also why do you sign off " the truth is out there?"

Spartan,

I provide a service to the good people of cyber world and bring information to them before any one else. "rumours" as I like to call them. There is your standard denial of such speculation from the relevant parties but I uncover the truth. Recently I published information regarding the Witham Town managerial post. The manager resigned following a game with Stansted. As it happens his chairman convinced him to stay and he has, quite rightly, agreed to stay on. For what it is worth the team at Witham is very strong and I like the way they play to their strengths which, to me, is an indication the manager knows what he is doing.

I digress.

The point I am raising is a certain member of this forum also runs a foum dedicated to Witham Town where he often ridicules people on this site. He wont say anything in person or on this forum, he is like a rate sent out for food. He scurries over here, gets some gossip, and then takes it back to the pack of rats on the Witham forum.

On said forum my post was scoffed at only fore the press to publish a story about the manager resigning. Ho ho ho. Quite suddenly the posts on the Witham forum disappeared.

The truth is out there sparty.

Back to your question about people having a go at you I would have to say I have no idea. Tehre are a few people who have had their noses put out of place (Basil-Don) as they used to dominate the limelight with ridiculous stories about internet scams and postmen. All very weird. They don't like newbies like me and you. Apparently unless you show your face in basildon for a beating with a baseball bat you are not allowed an opinion.

The wolves are out there Sparty so you will need a few of those Greek Gods you put your faith in to offer you some backup.

Let the onslaught commence.

basil-don what you saying all post men take full pay for a part time job looooooool, and they complain that they get up early cheek of some people

im saying nothing about our wonderful postal service, the fact that the pubs of Basildon are full of postmen at midday everyday doesnt mean that they dont do a full days work. if they open up the occasional birthday card and help themselves to the enclosed vouchers or money then thats simply a 'perk of the job'. the taxpayers only subsidied the Royal Mail with 300 million quid last year maybe we should have gave them 500 million then they could have been in the boozers by 11 am not midday.
