Blues v Maidstone United

Recommended Posts

Looking forward to this ! Maidstone have a decent following and there is no football on the telly which hopefully will add on a few more homers . After the last 3 league games we have picked up 7 from 9 . A win tonight could potentially put us just 3 points off a play off spot again , and a return of 10 points from 12 would be a great return .

Come on The Blues !!!

Haha , so 13 from 15 now :)

Goal in the last minute ! Sets things up nicely .

Special mention to Ced who i thought worked tirelessly. But also to Ashlee for that one save that effectively won us the game . Confidence must be flowing at the moment ... Can we keep it up !

COME IN TOWN !!!!

Another good result and a deserved win.

Tony Boot had two good chances one of which was stopped by a good save from Walker. Chris Wilds looping header hit the post, Another fine save from Walker to deny Harrison, Andersons header narrowly missed, Sean unusually scuffed a great chance, and Ced almost made it two in the dying seconds.

Ashlee had another fine game.

Well done lads, :applaus::applaus:

well done....another 3 points...thought we play well in the first half, but lost momentum after the break and allowed Maidstone to make some running, but persistence paid off and got the goal we deserved, Cedric should have had at least one more !!!... and a great run from Harrison, tackling through about three defenders for a shot on target pushed over the top by a good save.

bring on the Urchins.......

Forgot to mention the Ref

What a pleasure it was to watch a flowing game, uninterrupted by the constant blowing of a Whistle.

Well Done REF. :applaus:

He was unbelievable ! it was timed at 23 min before the first free kick was awarded ! A real joy as he was letting a number of (hard but fair) challenges go, and he more than contributed to a fast tempo the first half produced from both sides .

Hell....let's give mom to the ref for a change eh !

I thought first half we were clearly the better side and couldn't see Maidstone getting more than nil - it was just a question of whether we could find the net or not.

Maidstone were better second half and had more of the game, crucial save by Jones at 0-0 - but I still thought the better opportunities were ours. It was a late goal and although Maidstone will be gutted I thought we deserved the win overall. Agree the ref had a good game although some people thought H should have had a pen first half.

Good to see Walker and Hockers again - Won't wish them well yet after all we've still got to beat Maidstone again this season!

Interesting to read that Craig might be on the look-out for a striker - I think Ced has worked hard and of course Lawson will be back soon, but imo Bertie and Booty need to do more to demonstrate their worth to the squad.

Difficult to see anything other than a tight game Saturday. Let's hope this recent run can continue.

Come on you Blues!!

Yes, overall the Ref contributed to a fine game played in a good spirit. BUT from my angle Harrison looked as though he was brought down in the box and he got up to re-challenge for the ball. It was galling for the lad to then be lectured by the referee and it obviously frustrated the Town players for a while afterwards. This day and age opposition players normally berate opponents who they feel have dived and it was noticeable that none of the Maidstone players reacted.
