I maybe wrong here but Guildford City still have their social club in Joesph Road, where their old ground used to be, does it still belong to them? If it does why not sell it and use the money to either upgrade the Spectum, or maybe think of moving to the new Surrey Sports Park?

Good thinking Medic, but I doubt they would be able to sell it in time to get the money by 31 March 2011 deadline?

That is true NG, I just wondered why they haven't considered selling it, unless it belongs to someone else? However I believe the Surrey Sports Park would be a great move for them.

Afraid not.

 

There's no football ground at the Surrey Sports Park for us to move to.

I would love for us to take over one of the old Varsity pitches and develop around that but we can't build on someone else's land without their permission!

As far as i know even in the old city days the social club never belonged to the football club ,my father in law tells me, back then it belonged to the guildford city supporters club ,hence when the joseph road ground was sold the city club wasnt part of the deal ,but i may be wrong ,and yes the surrey sports park would be a brilliant venue !but as mr sweeney says its a no go .
