Just been reading through the C.C.L.RULES,where it says that a COMPETITION could be held between the Premier Champions and the Premier Cup holders if the Board so wish, has this ever been played, and if so who are the Holders. Have the C.C.L. ever played a Representative Match against another LEAGUE, I just think both would be good for the League to raise it's profile,as the standard is improving rapidly.

Personally smudge, i think its a great idea in both cases. perhaps whitelaw can elaborate more and if he will arrange what can be called the ccl commuinity shield, i am sure it will be well attended by all forumites + many other and filmed by trs.

we could also ask whitelaw if he/ccl arrange for the champions of the premier to play champions of div.1 - call the cup what you will - any suggestions ?

good topic smudgy boy, one for the ccl/whitelaw to persue and find a nice venue for the finals.

whitelaw has any venues been decided for the ccl cup finals as yet ?

Many moons ago I used to represent the CCL and it was fantastic.. We played the Army.....and various other leagues and was a great success. The only problem this year could be the pile up of fixtures already.

thing is though, as much as it would be an honour, would you want your 'star' players representing the league in an exhibition game at any point of the season because of the risk of injury?

Haven't been kidnapped Manager50, I'm still alive .....LOL !!!

Who saw me at PC World Smudgy ! You stalking me..........It's true actually, I brought a new keyboard so everyone can stop moaning at me ! Unfortunately Smudgy I DIDN'T win the lottery ! I certainly haven't got Chertseytowns money and couldn't afford their weekly budget that's for sure, but I admit my recent visits and entrance fee's at Alwyns Lane must have helped him.............LOL !

Ellers results haven't been promotion material and can't see them getting promotion this season. They are still struggling to get their win BUT they have now scored ! So Smudgy, I doubt I'll get that call for help from Ellers now ...........ha ha !

Nice Guy I never once said Lammas had a chance of promotion, however results have not gone our way lately, yet we could of come away with 6 points against Sports and Farnham if we had a bit more luck, season is over for Lammas and were now trying to get things in place for next season, we have a good management team in the reserves now, which will be strong next season and we have started looking at the squad and assessing where we need to improve and strengthen, so Nice Guy we might be looking for you to do some scouting for us! Lol!

I think Sports and Farnham are nailed on for promotion now but next season I think us and Knaphill will be strong contenders for promotion..

In answer to the various points, I am sure the League would have no objection to a match between the Premier and Div One champions, presumably as a curtain raiser to the new season. Would both clubs wish to take part though, esp the Premier Div champions who may by then have higher things on their minds? I have made a note though of the possibility.

There have been rep matches in the past and sometimes as Weeble has stated, they can be very enjoyable. All too often though, there have been problems, generally to do with the late withdrawal of players for various reasons plus, of course, the fact that some clubs are reluctant to release their better players. Due to these factors the rep team ends up less than representative of the League's best standard, to the point where it has even been a struggle to get a team out. I doubt if they will be resurrected unless there is a clear call from the clubs to do so, which I suspect will not be forthcoming.

Venues for this season's cup finals are being considered at the moment. As stated in this week's bulletin though, the EL Records Premier Challenge Cup Final will be at Farnborough FC on Friday 6 May.

Hope that helps.

The bold highlighted section has always been the same and the reason, as stated by whitelaw, that they no longer go ahead. Some players would be proud to be part of a rep side but the btk's don't bother as there is nothing in it for them. Tell the best players in the league that it is a scouting mission for pro clubs and watch them flock in. Always been trouble and unless you reverse the selection process so that players put themselves forward it will not work.

Shame really as a very good team could be put together from both Prem and Div1 to play other leagues.

A lot like the NATIONAL SIDE then,if theirs nothing in it for them, why bother.SUCH A DEFEATIST ATTITUDE,if we can't have our best team why bother.Maybe the other Leagues are the same, they will not put their best team out either.so it could be a cracking game.but of course it is down to Clubs to give clear call for this to be resurrected. So surely take it out your rules,as you think it will not be forthcoming.

Many years ago I was Secretary of a Residents Association, and I asked our local council if 2 small Oak trees could be planted outside a Youth Club, the local Councillors rebuffed the idea on the grounds that the local yobbo's would destroy them as soon as they were put in.

Local residents got their way,and these trees are still standing today.

If you do not try you do not get.have the c.c.l a welfare officer.when will a cup final be played croydon way.and for the life of me why must cup finals be played on non c.c.l. grounds, div 1 sides have never played at say Molesey. likewise premier clubs have never played at say south park. why not give some revenue back to c.c.l. clubs, rather than bankroll a once bust club. So same old same old if it aint broke why fix it.

Thanks Whitelaw.

Can you please keep us all advised when the other CCL final dates & venues have been decided. By the way, well done in getting a pleasant venue such as Farnboro' for the CCL Premier Cup Final but on a Friday ? In hindsight, maybe not a bad idea cos I am sure the winners will want to enjoy their evenings festivities plus the game will attract more ground hoppers, other managers, scouts and supporters alike.

Just one thing I do not agree with Whitelaw. Firstly I honestly think that the 2 division champions should play for the 'CHAMPIONS CUP' but please do it THIS SEASON. The reason being is that we are all aware some players leave their respective clubs during the summer so those players who got the team to be the respective champions may not be at the club the following season. Now I know that's upto the player not to be enticed to leave the club but that's football, anyway they will play in the final next season and then fly off to another club ! Something to consider. What do you think Whitelaw ?

Here's one. I wonder if the players got ££££££ to play and represent their respective league, would the players then withdraw from the game........I very much doubt it !!!

Good question Smudgy boy, wonder if the CCL do have a kit, if not how about the elected manager's team kit ?
