A GREAT DAY AT KNAPHILL.

Trains on time,a brisk walk from the station to the ground got me there well before K/O,offered free admission by Trentender which was welcomed but as is Smudges way,I politely refused and paid my entrance fee which included an excellent programme. The pitch was in immaculate condition, but it was very windy.Went and partook of a coffee, whilst reading the programme,my eyes were drawn to the Cobham Team list,NO.1 DAN WHITBY,my heart raised a beat,Cobham have relented and allowed him to play, but this was just a dream or a sick joke on someones part as Dan Roberts WAS NO.1 on the board outside,Dan Whitby not in the Team. The wind was blowing hard throughout the game, which made good Football hard to play, but Knaphill took the lead courtesy of a screamer from Alex Lumley from fully 30yds,and added a second courtesy of a Ricky Hogsden close range header, they could of had a couple more in a purple patch, but for good saves from young Cobham keeper Dan Roberts, but Cobham pulled a goal back through Oliver Wayne after a good move involving 4 players 2-1 at half time GAME ON.The second half started as the first finished end to end,but Cobham had 2 good chances to equalise but were thwarted by Richard Shelley who had an excellent game.It looked as if Cobham would get something out of the game, but although Knaphill were defending for their lives, they had an occassional break and this is how they sealed the game,Baker broke free an fired a shot that the Cobham keeper could not hold and Woody Cardona fired home the rebound.GAME OVER 3-1 and Knaphill extend their winning run to 7.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all at Knaphill F.C. for making me most WELCOME AT THEIR CLUB,they are a club on the up.The Referee Mr. Fish and his Officials had an excellent game, the 3 Bookings were fully deserved,2 being for back chat, after he made his decisions. The only downside of the day was when only 5 Cobham Players and NO Committee Members came into the CLUBHOUSE post match where food was provided,in fact they could not wait to get out of the place fast enough, because they lost i do not think so.Met Skinner14 and gave him £10 for his SKY DIVE as promised, met Tom diggity Davis and took £5 off him for his GOLD Membership, met Cardo24,ESSIEN4,JURGS,and Krooners favourite Player Neil Woodyer, all in all a good day. The cherry on the cake was a lift back to Woking station,THANK YOU WHAT THE C.C.L IS ALL ABOUT,FRIENDSHIP.

An ongoing problem with some clubs I'm afraid.

I can name 2 clubs whose players were particularly rude about our club and facilities this season. Ironically, both these clubs groundshare at other clubs!!!

Lovely report Smudgie. Glad you kept your gloves ON !

CHRIS. This sad business of away opposition leaving immediately after the game seems to be getting more and more common. Even in the Ladies League, as witnessed at Meadowbank a week ago today. I just wish I could have stayed longer yesterday to chew the fat, but I wasn't driving, and my Chauffeur had a pressing engagement.
