No Money?! Great Idea!!

Twist&Shout

Recommended Posts

I've got a blinding idea!! The club always says they have no money, no money for new players, can't afford wages, so how about get rid of ALL the players who are subs..free up all those players wages, get 2 or 3 good players for bench and then fil the other places with youngsters to make up numbers..

Its absolutely ridiculous that we never use subs..fresh legs are better than knackered legs..

Free up some money by getting rid of 4 or 5 players and with that money buy 2 or 3 decent players..get 1 or 2 on loan maybe..

I don't know..I just think there's options rather than having 5 blokes on the bench EVERY week doing absolutely nothing

Funny you saying this. Said the same thing today myself to someone. (did you overhear me?) No,its more like we are in agreement & thinking along the same linest.

It's Absolutely a waste having subs if they aren't going to be used. The first team players are picked reguarly with no competition for places amongst them & that has to be a bad thing surely..

I agree with you release those on the bench as they are obviously not good enough, in somebodys eyes, to be given a crack at it. Either that or give them a go. It cant make things any worse surely & who knows it might improve things.

I only managed to get there for the second half today & I was told we could have been 1 or even 2 goals to the good by then.

Second half I saw us dominate territorially but lacked "punch" again up front. No-one attacking the ball or telegraphing things.

As for their goal. Again another lapse of concentration in defence (every game it seems to be lately despite an otherwise good defensive performance) A ball into our penalty area with maybe 6 or 7 of our defenders not wanting to make that ball theirs or leaving it to others to deal with. Went straight past the lot of them without any effort (from what I saw) to get to that ball first & deal with it.

Back to the subject of the thread. Yes, something needs sorting out with these subs as it is clear at present that they are only sitting there solely to make up the teamsheet (on paper).

Release those 3 or 4 players who never player and sign a couple of players who will challenge for places and maybe get a few on loan??

I'll sit on the bench to make up numbers if I have to :) hahahaha

No-one wants to see that Gav, supposed to be fresh legs! Don't forget I've seen you run.

I would put my name forward but too busy doing the report!

The subs probably only get sitting on the bench money as it is, so there will be very little extra cash from that direction.

Evening,

I have seen one of your lads before who is 'just making up number's' and I would say that to get rid of him would be a mistake.

The lad’s Kane Harrington & Josh Winchcombe need to be given a chance . I would suggest that there are players out on the pitch that cost the club a hell of a lot of money that are not performing, and its time to give the younger, more hungry players with a point to prove a chance.

If the young players are good enough, regardless of age, they need to be played. Add youth & experience together & you get the best of both. You see young players playing in the premiership week in week out, why is non league any different.

In terms of league position, why not? We are not going up and we are not going to be relegated. We probably only need two more wins, so a good time to give a couple of the kids a go. Though having said that plenty of young players have left Margate in recent years and gone down the ladder, not up, which vindicated the various managers who were in charge at that time.

Apparently, Kenny Pratt is now plying his trade in Division 2 of the Kent County League.

I always felt that he was someone who could make a difference coming off the bench.

totally agree, these players come training, go to all the games for very little or no money at all, that in itself shows committement
