Badshot Lea 1 v Chertsey Town 2

Bit of a drab game really, affected by the high winds blowing across the pitch. Not a lot happened in the first half, apart from the ball continuosly being smashed out of the ground, keeping the old boy busy jumping the fence to retrieve it!!

Right at the end of the half Badshot took the lead with most Chertsey supporters calling for an offside flag that never came, and looking at TRS' pictures the lino probably got it spot on.

Chertsey had to improve second half and seemed to push on. They started to win the midfield battles and moved the ball well going forward. Dan Bennett was involved in both Chertsey goals, a good break into the box and a pulled back pass that found Tommy O Regan was the equalizer and a fantastic ball to Page gave the on form striker the opportunity to round Stone and score the winner.

Although it felt nervous towards the end Chertsey really had it under control and ended up deserved winners.

Next stop......Guildford at the Lane

Lovely.......................

SAW YOU FILMING AWAY TRS, ANOTHER GOOD COVERAGE MATE.

CTFC DRAP ........ EXACTLY ! I WAS DISAPPOINTED WITH BOTH TEAMS TO BE HONEST CONSIDERING THERE WAS SO MUCH ON THE GAME. THE WIND DIDNT HELP I ADMIT BUT MORE ENDEAVOUR BY BOTH TEAMS WOULDN'T HAVE GONE A-MISS ANYWAY, WELL DONE CHERTSEY WHICH REALLY MEANS THAT BADSHOT LEA WILL PROBABLY BE OUT OF THE RUNNING TO BE CHAMPIONS NOW, BUT THERE WILL BE MORE TWISTS AND TURNS TO COME BEFORE THE END OF THE SEASON, SO COULD STILL BE INTERESTING. 3 HORSE RACE ? CAMBERLEY ON THE CHARGE MUSTN'T BE DISMISSED ?

CTFC WILL WATCHING NEXT WEEK AGAINST GUILDFORD WHICH REALLY I BELIEVE IS A DECIDER FOR CHERTSEYS PROMOTION HOPES.

Egham Town 0-0 Chessington & Hook United - this from two sides who produced a 6-5 home win in the earlier fixture. This is only our third 0-0 in four and a half seasons in CCL. Egham totally dominated the second half (and most of the first) but the C & H keeper Dan Fisher produced a few outstanding saves. The linesman running the line by the C & H dugout got the second half off to a flying start by first saying John Pomroy should not have been awarded a penalty because the ball had run through to the keeper, and then flagged a throw in for the visitors while verbally awarding it to us. He didn't have an answer when I enquired if the knew the difference between "what he sits on" and "elbow". (How come this site lets "crap" through, but not the word for bottom that rhymes with class?)

Tempestward was you at the game today thought it was a game of 2 halfs. Chessington should have scored 3 in the first half, Egam had chances in the second half and it could have been 3-3. It certinaly was not one way traffic.

No, of course I was not at the game, like I have not seen any Egham games over the last 41 years. That means I don't need to apologise for not mentioning your 9 hitting our post, nor to mention the fact that Glyn Stephens seemed to every bit as agitated with the officials as Steve Baker was. There is though a more salient point in your comments, and this is not aimed at you specifically. We all know goals change games; had, for instance, your 9 scored instead of hitting the post, what would have happened next is unguessable. To say you should have scored 3 in the first half is therefore daft. We might have hit back, or we might have collapsed. At Chertsey on Tuesday we lost 1-3; Martin Randall, with seconds left of the first half, hit the bar with a diving header. Had it been half an inch lower we might have won, or Chertsey might have been victorious in the end despite going in a goal down. We were on top, Pomroy had levelled against his old club... Who knows? I don't claim to and neither should anyone else.

Wood 2-3 Dorking.

6th successive league defeat for Wood who took a 2-0 lead right on half time.

A match that would have befitted a Sunday league really with a lot of endeavour but little real quality. A very open game throughout which might have been 7-7!

Entertaining because of the chances created but, ultimately, the 11 Chicks players wanted it more and got what they, eventually, deserved.

Nice people at DFC, as were the match officials.

Bookham on Wednesday!

It will be emotional!:yay:

A very pleasant and friendly afternoon at Wood's ground. Very many thanks Chris, and all your Committee for your usual good hospitality.

I have just finished a synopsis of a match report for the press, in which I describe a 'game of two halves', with two halves in each for Chicks.

Being two down with more than half the match gone, DFC have given in in the past. Not yesterday. With plenty of screaming from the bench, (and myself beside the bench), in the last 30 minutes, lifted Dorking to prove that our bottom position isn't really justified.

To actually come back from 2-0 down to win 2-3 must prove wo do have the fighting spirit.

Thanks Guys !

Bedfont sports 1-0 hartley wintney

Hw started really well an pegged us back but with little end product then a seemingly innocuous clash in the middle of the pitch ended with our cm getting sent off for swearing at the ref after bout 15 mins!! Turns out he had been caught by opposing player an a lil concussed had a golf ball lump on his head! After

sending off we showed character as a team an were the better footballing side

in defense an attack an got our just rewards when jimmy the legend left back roberts (i now know he reads this lol) with great composure with the outside of his left foot stuck the ball in the far corner !! Game swung to an fro with hartley keeper pulling off two worldy saves from azagba an bamford an new signing lee tunnel hitting the post all in all a superb team performance with 10 men !

I reckon if Guildford are still unbeaten this time next week the title is theirs.

Thats ridiculous...

After Chertsey, Guildford still have to play Egham, Badshot Lea and Molesey away... and thats without me looking at their fixtures properly.

The race is still on no matter what happens, but if those teams want to beat Guildford I won't complain!!!

Ash Utd 2-0 MVSCR

Cannot argue with the result, as we turned in a shocking performance, and got what we deserved.

Felt quite confident after the opening few minutes, as we got in down the right hand side a couple of times, but that was probably as good as it got.

Conditions didn't help, but Ash dealt with them better than we did.

First goal was a bit of a freak - long free kick from wide on the Ash right, swung in, missed by everybody, and sailed into the net. By this time though Ash had hit the bar, and knocked the rebound over from a yard.

Going with the wind in the second half, thought it might get better, but, although we had a fair amount of possession, we never made the keeper make a save.

Ash could have notched a couple more, before they sealed the win with 10 to go, when we got caught at the back, and although our centre half made a decent tackle, the loose ball fell to Dallaway, who fired home.

Thanks to the Ash board for their hospitality - made myself and our chairman very welcome - and good luck to them for the rest of the season.

Over to you AUPostie, for your thoughts.

Spot On Briggers. Didnt see our 1st goal trying to find a match ball, did think we played the better off the football & against the win we looked more dangerous. Good to see the referee allowing the game to flow & only getting involved when he needed to.

Glad you enjoyed your visit & was good to meet you. & good luck for the remainder of the season

Having lost their ground, Farnborough North End have been given permission by the Management Committee to play at any other suitable venue until the end of the season. This was felt to be a better alternative than removing them from the League, which would have impacted upon other clubs in the division, as well as possibly causing the demise of a club, which nobody on the management Committee at least, wished to see.

They will have until 31 May 2011 to advise the League where they intend to play next season but "multiple" ground sharing will not be allowed after the end of this season.

I hope that answers the question.

Sensible decision me thinks from the often much maligned management committee

Scoreline flatters Farnham but all in all they deserved there win, Corbs got there 1st after a good save from our keeper, then our keeper dropped 1 from a corner for an easy tap in, 2 nill half time, came out 2nd half playing some good stuff again, pressed them for 35 minutes but to no avail as we dont seem to wanna shoot, then we got caught on the break that led to there 3rd.

Well done Farnham all the best for the rest

"Elf, Obviously I disagree with your comment about Horley being a very poor footballing side as I thought you outclassed us today in most areas of the pitch. When you played us at our place some 3 months ago which also ended in the same scoreline I personally mentioned that you would be a top 3 club this season. This I still believe is possible as your side produce a certain standard that is currently above most sides in the premier CCL.

We dealt with the spitting incident at half time with our player to which I personally entered your dressing room to speak with your management to mention that we as a club do not condone such behavior.

The finger issue was as much classy as some of the banter between both sets of management during a fiery first half.

Also if you are at all involved with the footballing side of your club I urge you to ask your management if Horley give respect to our opposition before and after the match. I am sure they will vouch for our professionalism.

I am honest enough to know we were beaten fair and square today BUT again I have a sour taste in my mouth with the officials performances today. It is now happening all too often in our league where consistency is sadly missing. I am afraid so many poor decisions and letting the game slip away so early into the games of late that a serious injury is just waiting to happen.

On our number 9, he is a whole hearted player who gives as much as he gets. Opposition supporters only see what they want to ???

As I have said, Molesey are a decent outfit who are led excellently by their manager.

From our point of view, we did not bring our A game today and as individuals and collectively know we are capable of better."

Padlock/Elf - let's put this one to bed. I was talking about Jupp to the Horley people before the game and saying that he is a whole hearted old fashioned type who gives and takes. He did catch our lad on Saturday but I do not personally think it was deliberate, just clumsy. Joe PJ took his treatment and got on with things so hopefully it will be another good lesson to take heed of in what I expect to be a really good few years in football. The spitting incident was discussed between the respective management at half time and they did come and explain what was said during their half time chat and I accepted the outcome of this. A manager can only take a players word in these cases, unless he has actually witnessed what went on, so they did what they could. After the game I spoke to our player about this in more detail and must say that his view was that he wanted to pack it all in because of what happened and was adamant the incident was deliberate, which is a shame. After quite a long chat this has been averted fortunately. I would also vouch for the way Horley conduct themselves, as they show great respect for others and in our case swept and cleared up the changing room and left it spotless. This is something we always do and it is nice for others to take a bit of time to leave things looking tidy before they depart. I would also like to think that Horley are quite a good footballing side and that it was because of our strengths that they looked less so, as their recent form has been quite good. The main thing for us was to get another 3 points and keep up the pressure on the sides around us and move on to the next game. Horley have always struck me as a good club, very well run and with a long term plan rather than win at all costs policy, so good luck to them for the rest of the season. Next stop Meadowbank!

Yeah fair comment. I didnt play in the last game, but the lads said it was a much better Sheerwater side this time round. They always looked to play so, hopefully with a bit more cutting edge they can get goals and stay up.

As for us it was another good 3 points after playing thursday night. Bunners and Jonny Horner got the other goals.

molly any words on your game at the weekend.coffee%20%282%29.gif

Sorry been busy, 3 games this season against Hayes Gate and found them very unpredictable. 1st game they turned up with the bare 11 and had a keeper who looked like he had been retired for at least 10 years. 2nd game we got battered but won 3-0. And Saturdays game a 1-1 draw and were lucky to get a point! In difficult conditions Park started the better and controlled the first 20, but from then on Hayes Gate played the better and looked like the team pushing for promotion. Could of been 5-5 with both team missing chances.
