Eversley 1-1 Staines Lammas

Not the best of games to be fair, Lammas took the lead midway through the first half, then conceded a soft goal just before half time, we had chances to wrap the game up, but in the end only a worldy of a save from our keeper kept us in the game.

My first time at Eversley and I was very impressed with the pitch and the facilities.

Easy 4-0 win for the Moles.

Horley are a very poor football side who just rely on long balls and trying to wind up the opposition.

Highlights were our right back being subbed after being spat on and we didn't need unessersary red cards, and the Horley management giving our assistant manager the finger... Classy.

My favourite has to be their number 9 (Nathan Jupp) who barely had a touch all day but managed to injure the same player three times... Just a wind-up merchant with no ability

Elf, Obviously I disagree with your comment about Horley being a very poor footballing side as I thought you outclassed us today in most areas of the pitch. When you played us at our place some 3 months ago which also ended in the same scoreline I personally mentioned that you would be a top 3 club this season. This I still believe is possible as your side produce a certain standard that is currently above most sides in the premier CCL.

We dealt with the spitting incident at half time with our player to which I personally entered your dressing room to speak with your management to mention that we as a club do not condone such behavior.

The finger issue was as much classy as some of the banter between both sets of management during a fiery first half.

Also if you are at all involved with the footballing side of your club I urge you to ask your management if Horley give respect to our opposition before and after the match. I am sure they will vouch for our professionalism.

I am honest enough to know we were beaten fair and square today BUT again I have a sour taste in my mouth with the officials performances today. It is now happening all too often in our league where consistency is sadly missing. I am afraid so many poor decisions and letting the game slip away so early into the games of late that a serious injury is just waiting to happen.

On our number 9, he is a whole hearted player who gives as much as he gets. Opposition supporters only see what they want to ???

As I have said, Molesey are a decent outfit who are led excellently by their manager.

From our point of view, we did not bring our A game today and as individuals and collectively know we are capable of better.

Horley are, in the main a young side, certainly not dirty, or indeed a long ball side. Maybe you were just too good for them on the day?! Nathan (No. 9) IS certainly a wind up merchant, but even in the autumn of his footballing career, he still has talent !!

With regard to the the management, I have to disagree, I have known Mark Gilbert for a good few years and I would have to say that he always conducts himself extremely well and I know that he would never tolerate spitting, or indeed anything of that ilk.

I must add that I was not at the game today, but feel that I am able to give a balanced view , having seen Horley on numerous occasions.

Good luck to The Moles for the rest of the campaign andI can say that hand on heart, as I used to play for them about thirty years ago!!!

Obviously I can only comment on the two times Molesey have played them that I've seen this season... And maybe the referee did give too much space to both sides creating an explosive situation with a lot of frayed tempers! Usually I like a referee to allow a certain amount of freedom to the players but perhaps he should have cracked down when things started heating up.

As for the "two finger salute" waved at our bench, I don't know how it can be banter when he did specifically when our bench wasn't looking!

As for the spitting, I'm only operating frpm what I heard as he was standing to the side of the dugout and we withdrew the player after 68 minutes because of the spitting suggesting it happened then?

Finally, maybe Horley aren't usually a long ball and dirty side but in the first fifteen minutes one of your players took one of ours out three times!

Egham Town 0-0 Chessington & Hook United - this from two sides who produced a 6-5 home win in the earlier fixture. This is only our third 0-0 in four and a half seasons in CCL. Egham totally dominated the second half (and most of the first) but the C & H keeper Dan Fisher produced a few outstanding saves. The linesman running the line by the C & H dugout got the second half off to a flying start by first saying John Pomroy should not have been awarded a penalty because the ball had run through to the keeper, and then flagged a throw in for the visitors while verbally awarding it to us. He didn't have an answer when I enquired if the knew the difference between "what he sits on" and "elbow". (How come this site lets "crap" through, but not the word for bottom that rhymes with class?)

Tempestward was you at the game today thought it was a game of 2 halfs. Chessington should have scored 3 in the first half, Egam had chances in the second half and it could have been 3-3. It certinaly was not one way traffic.

Badshot Lea 1 v Chertsey Town 2

Bit of a drab game really, affected by the high winds blowing across the pitch. Not a lot happened in the first half, apart from the ball continuosly being smashed out of the ground, keeping the old boy busy jumping the fence to retrieve it!!

Right at the end of the half Badshot took the lead with most Chertsey supporters calling for an offside flag that never came, and looking at TRS' pictures the lino probably got it spot on.

Chertsey had to improve second half and seemed to push on. They started to win the midfield battles and moved the ball well going forward. Dan Bennett was involved in both Chertsey goals, a good break into the box and a pulled back pass that found Tommy O Regan was the equalizer and a fantastic ball to Page gave the on form striker the opportunity to round Stone and score the winner.

Although it felt nervous towards the end Chertsey really had it under control and ended up deserved winners.

Next stop......Guildford at the Lane

Lovely.......................

Ash Utd 2-0 MVSCR

Cannot argue with the result, as we turned in a shocking performance, and got what we deserved.

Felt quite confident after the opening few minutes, as we got in down the right hand side a couple of times, but that was probably as good as it got.

Conditions didn't help, but Ash dealt with them better than we did.

First goal was a bit of a freak - long free kick from wide on the Ash right, swung in, missed by everybody, and sailed into the net. By this time though Ash had hit the bar, and knocked the rebound over from a yard.

Going with the wind in the second half, thought it might get better, but, although we had a fair amount of possession, we never made the keeper make a save.

Ash could have notched a couple more, before they sealed the win with 10 to go, when we got caught at the back, and although our centre half made a decent tackle, the loose ball fell to Dallaway, who fired home.

Thanks to the Ash board for their hospitality - made myself and our chairman very welcome - and good luck to them for the rest of the season.

Over to you AUPostie, for your thoughts.

Croydon 3 - Raynes Park Vale 4.

Really good game today, with both teams keeping the ball on the ground most of the time. Only one thing spoilt the game, not the wind, one particular lines man. Today our ref was really good and he didn't even make a card appear, which in todays football is rare. So all credit to Simeon Potter. So tempted to make a joke about quidditch .. but I can't well done to him

Sadly the same could not be said to the fool on the line who came out with some exceptionally strange and wrong decisions. example ... a player has both arms in front of himself, and an opposition player behind him. yet he flags for the player in front holding the one behind. maybe it was the players third arm .... lol. Yet two minutes later when an elbow is raised no more than 4 feet in front of him, he fails to see it. Strange? Where was he looking? The starlings on the floodlights?

Ok back to match action.

RPV were gifted the first two goals by Croydon. Although Croydon's fist was a super duper classic with a smartly laid ball from Gareth Graham to Leon McDowell. So at half time it was CFC 1 = RPV2.

Second half was really good to watch, both teams playing well. RPV went 3-1 up 2 minutes in to the restart, then Croydon fought back to 3-3. Glorious, but they appeared to still be celebrating the equaliser when RPV nabbed a fourth.

On reflection the game deserved to be a draw, 3-3 or 4-4 but still good entertainment from both sides. Sadly one person spoilt a game that even the wind couldn't!

Cove were very poor, epsom fully deserved the 3 points in windy conditions, jj why wasnt you playing, thought you centre midfilder very lucky not to get sent off with so many fouls considering he had already been booked, very strange substitution by your manager, you was having a very good 10 min period where you created a few chances and looked like you might score only for him to take off your forward who had been usefull and bring on the other forward, lets say no more on him and it just killed ur spell and epsom went up the other end and scored a very poor defended goal, reff and linos was shocking as usual

Wood 2-3 Dorking.

6th successive league defeat for Wood who took a 2-0 lead right on half time.

A match that would have befitted a Sunday league really with a lot of endeavour but little real quality. A very open game throughout which might have been 7-7!

Entertaining because of the chances created but, ultimately, the 11 Chicks players wanted it more and got what they, eventually, deserved.

Nice people at DFC, as were the match officials.

Bookham on Wednesday!

It will be emotional!:yay:
