Bar opening times/events

Just thinking of ways to get the bar open a bit more, bringing extra money into the club

While,at the moment we don't have sky, there are plenty of other events which are on either terrestrial tv or digibox

Events like the Rugby between Wales and England tonight. Was just wondering how many people would go to the club for these events should they be on at the club, obviously as long as the club does not have a function.Obviously it wouldn't be worth opening for a handful of people but if numbers were good I am sure they would consider it

Not sure mate,I think it was put on hold due to the amount of functions we have and it maybe looking out of place, although you can get a top put over them to use as a table

Personally,I think a pool table is an easy way to make Money and not having one in a sporting club, should be looked at.

If the club had the money I would look at how much it would cost to get a sports bar put somewhere around the club, separate from the bar now.For supporters to use.Nothing special, just something the size of the gym or a bit bigger where we could hold darts/pool fruit machine and just use when the supporters needed it,maybe it's something for the SA to look into in the long run, maybe as a long term project, the initial cost would be for the premises, deco etc would be done by the fans

The bar at Heybridge Swifts is open seven days aweek as I recall, don't suppose it's run as a charity and there are a couple of good pubs at the Basin, not sure how far away that is from the footy ground.

Not far,in the old days,Hornchurch had a very lively social scene ,many people like my dad and his mates used to drink there,Sundays were rammed most of the time and this is in the days before sky.I have many mates who get fed up going to the yeoman for live sport and end up going to Hornchurch or beyond when they actually live 5 minutes walk from the club.I definatly think it's worth looking at,it could also be open on matchdays and gives a bit of relief at half time or just before the game. The club could then hold as many functions as possible without having to worry that they would be turning fans away an hour or so after the games which is sometimes the case

I know it's a bit small at the moment but we should open up the directors lounge if people have to be kicked out of the main clubhouse due to a function.

Did it last year a few times.
