Mate they have never had any real support, shame really as they r doing so well on all fronts u would think they would get better crowds but I must admit its hard u have stortford, harlow, braintree on top of them like us and sawbo its hard to pull in the crowds when I have three team with massive support don't get me wrong we don't do to

Bad we average about 70 but what van they do with so many teams around them plus it don't help that only 2 of them r local ever.

yeah where im not from north essex i dont really have much of a grasp how near other teams are in that part of the county but of course its the same in south east essex, maybe there are too many clubs but wouldnt like to see any fold and if they did new ones would be formed in their place much like whats happened in the East End.

Your right mate no 1 wants that, it has to be hard for them though 24 fans don't pay the bills ( wages lights refs ect)

Not only officially 24 fans but most OAP's and therefore only paid half price.

Thankful for the people who do turn up and most were Groundhoppers.

Will be interesting to see how many we get for the Vase game, shame really as I think the football we play deserves a better audience.

Definitely. Makes you wonder how many Stanstedians turned up at Wembley for the 1984 FA Vase Final?

It's mainly to do with local issues. None of the current side are Stansted lad's & the locals have a bit of a problem with that. It was the same when I was there. The trouble is the local guys just aren't good enough.

The current Stansted team are successful & playing some great football. You would think they would get behind their local team a bit more wouldn't you ?

I know Braintree, Stortford & Harlow are close but, nobody from Stansted goes to those clubs either !

Local football clubs should be the hub of a community like stansted, the clubhouse should be a local watering hole for many but many clubs do not choose to run clubs this way,my own club Hornchurch choose not to have a thriving social club and I think we lose fans this way

Oh they used to use the club socially for darts teams & pool leagues etc. but they were interested in the football team. Going back to my days there aswell it was very poorly run. The bar used to be leased out & the club got stitched up big time on at least 2 occassions. Fortunately Terry Shoebridge has got some good people around him now to take the burden off him & hopefully the club can push in the right direction.
